Former MAFS star Eliot Donovan, who appeared on the reality show last year, has revealed his connection to one of the grooms from this year’s season.
Eliot took to TikTok to share his thoughts on the new groom, Sam Stanton, who married Chris Robinson on the show this week.
“I actually know the new MAFS villain that’s coming on, this guy,” Eliot said, pointing to a photo of Sam, who has appeared to be nothing but a beautiful person so far, making it quite the shocking statement.
Thankfully, Eliot was pulling our leg.
“I’m just kidding, he’s not a villain,” Eliot said through laughter, adding that he and Sam first met in 2014, when they were both personal trainers on cruise ships.
Speaking to WHO, Eliot explained that Sam never reached out to him before going on the show, saying he only found out he was going to be on the show when they released a photo of the intruder groom.
Eliot added that Sam not asking his advice “speaks to his character and wanting to be authentically himself without being ‘coached’.
“I haven’t seen a lot of him on the show yet, but from what I have seen he comes across as the genuine guy I knew.”
He also shared a photo of himself and Sam from that time.

Eliot explained in his TikTok that he took over a ship that Sam had been working on.
“I’ll never forget, everyone on the ship was obsessed with this guy, they were like, ‘Oh my God, he’s so amazing.'”
The former MAFS groom added, “I remember, I messaged him, I was like, ‘Dude, what the f**K did you do to this cast, because they’re obsessed with you!’
“But we ended up meeting later on, and he is just a really genuine, sweet guy.”
“I do really hope that he finds love on the show.”
Eliot also shared his excitement about watching someone genuine and positive on the show, because at the moment he feels it’s too “catty and toxic”.
Let’s be honest, that’s understandable!
Who is new MAFS groom Sam Stanton?

After spending time abroad in the US, Sam, a 34-year-old fitness studio owner, settled back down in Adelaide and is hoping to find an outdoorsy man to call his husband.
He joked on Instagram that “Adelaide’s man drought” made him join the reality show.
Sam has had two previous relationships, but both ended due to distance, with one moving away from the US, and another having to relocate for work.
Let’s hope things work out well with Sam and Chris!
