Jayne Trcka, the actress and former bodybuilder best remembered for her scene-stealing appearance in Scary Movie, has died aged 62.
Trcka was found dead in her home in San Diego, California, on December 12.
A spokesperson for the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed there was trauma to her body.
However, an official cause of death has not yet been determined.
TMZ, which first reported the news, noted that Trcka’s son was not aware of any medical conditions or illnesses that could explain her sudden passing.
Although her time on screen was brief, Trcka left a lasting impression as Miss Mann in Scary Movie.
It was her first acting role, and one that fans of the franchise still remember decades later.
The film starred Anna Faris alongside Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall and Carmen Electra.
For many viewers, Trcka’s appearance became one of those blink-and-you-miss-it moments that somehow sticks.
Jane’s role lives on through rewatches, memes and nostalgic quotes.
Before acting, Trcka was deeply embedded in the bodybuilding world, competing throughout the 1980s and earning recognition for her strength and physique. She appeared in a number of prominent fitness magazines, including Flex, MuscleMag International and Women’s Physique World.
Following Scary Movie, she made guest appearances on shows such as The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?, before eventually stepping away from the entertainment industry altogether.
In recent years, Trcka had built a quieter life, working as a real estate agent in San Diego.
While her acting career was short, for fans of Scary Movie, she remains part of a film that defined a very specific era of humour and pop culture. She is survived by her son.
