IT'S OVER: Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale have called it quits

A little over a month after confirming their relationship with that very raunchy kiss at the New York Rangers basketball game, Pete Davidson, 25, and Kate Beckinsale, 45, have called time on their relationship.

According to Page Six, the demise of their fleeting relationship was not due to the considerable amount of flak they received for their 20-year age gap rather, Beckinsale reportedly had an issue with Davidson’s very public lifestyle and his penchant for concerning Instagram posts.

“Even though Kate has been in Hollywood for a long time, she struggled with the attention on her relationship with Pete. He lives his life with his heart on his sleeve,” a source close to the couple told the outlet.

During the course of their brief romance, which sources labeled as “casual”, the couple— who were pictured holding hands and kissing on multiple occasions—was heavily scrutinised. While they kept quiet initially, after receiving hate on social media to the point where she was forced to delete her Instagram account, Beckinsale, 45, spoke out.

“I’m surprised by the interest. I’ve never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief,” The Window actress told the Los Angeles Times, explaining that at one point in time, the backlash on social media was so intense she deleted all of her Instagram posts. “I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not.”
