Just like the turn of the New Year, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is back like clockwork in our January schedules. From this Sunday onwards, we can watch disgusting bush tucker trials and delightfully entertaining celebrities.
While much of the beloved details in the show are staying the same (hi Rob and Julia), fans can expect some big changes this season.
Here’s everything you need to know to get up to speed:
The new I’m A Celeb season has already been filmed

We’re starting big!
For the first time in the show’s history, the entire season has been pre-recorded. Previously each episode, which airs every night between Sunday and Thursday, would include live coverage as well as pre-recorded segments.
However, this has well and truly been slashed.
The filming of the season reportedly finished up on December 23, according to New Idea, with not one, not two, but three different finales recorded in a bid to avoid spoilers. Each of the three finalists were filmed winning, and it’s understood all three flew home not knowing whether it was actually them who were crowned or not.
Why has this change been made?
It’s widely believed that I’m A Celeb has dropped its live format due to Channel 10 budget cuts.
By filming the season in advance, the post-production team don’t need to be as reactive or work to tight deadlines in order to get the show ready for the new day.
This could also make the show more attractive to A-listers as the fear of being cancelled in real time (while they’re inside The Jungle and cut off from the public… and their PR team) would be much less of a risk compared to the previous live format.
Public voting will be scrapped
Public voting was a natural extension of the show’s live format but since everything is already pre-recorded, this isn’t viable going forward.
The public won’t get the chance to officially have their say, but we have no doubt everyone at home will be tip-tapping away on their phones and sharing their reactions to every wild moment.
Contestants will be split into a new tiered payment system

While it’s seldom known how much each contestant is paid for their appearance on the show, insiders told Women’s Day that a new tiered payment system has been introduced this year.
Basically, the celebs will get paid accordingly to how well-known they are.
Those with household names will be at the top of the podium and can reportedly expect to pocket close to $250,000, while the majority of the cast will sit close to the mid-five to low-six figure mark.
Reality stars and influencers will receive the smallest renumeration.
Do we know who any of the contestants are this year?
The first known contestant for this season is Luke Bateman- former NRL player turned beloved TikTok star.
The 30-year-old announced he’ll be heading into The Jungle on Instagram on Wednesday.
