It’s no secret that most people go on Married At First Sight to get their blue ticks on Instagram and become influencers once the show wraps up.
Sadly, not everyone will be able to walk away from their full-time job once the show comes to an end in a few months, and with producers taking over the brides and grooms’ social media accounts, it’s harder for them to take advantage of any brand deals while the show is running.
Last year’s bride Jacqui Burfoot told WHO she worked around the rules to jump on sponsorship opportunities, and with the earning potential of this season’s contestants recently leaked, we wouldn’t be surprised if some do the same.
Why MAFS brides and grooms don’t use Instagram while the show is running?

Jacqui worked with brands while filming the show last year, saying: “Honestly, there were no consequences.”
She explained that she didn’t feel like she was being paid “for staying silent” while the show was on-air, saying the producers “can’t really hold you to account” if you find a way to use social media.
“They should be paying you for that, and they weren’t even paying us minimum wage during filming,” she said. “So there’s definitely not enough compensation there to do all our media for free, and also not work with brands.”
“So I think it’s just silly,” Jacqui added. “It’s against the contract, but I don’t know if the contracts are enforceable.”
“Remember, the cast don’t have their accounts right now, so they can’t really post on their official accounts. I think Gia [Fleur] has her account, but that’s about it that I know of.
“But they can always just start a new account, I guess. Or they can follow the rules like Rhi [Disljenkovic] and Jeff [Gobbels].”
Which MAFS stars have the best earning potential once the show ends?
If the MAFS contestants don’t find love on the show, they may find cash thanks to brand deals, but which stars are most likely to make money once the show finishes?
According to research from National Accounts, the person with the highest estimated earnings per Instagram post is a surprising one – Gia!
- Gia Fleur – estimated earnings per post: $677–$827
- Alissa Fay – estimated earnings per post: $405–$495
- Scott McCristal – estimated earnings per post: $314–$384
- Luke Fourniotis – estimated earnings per post: $202-246
- Julia Vogl – estimated earnings per post: $202–$246
No doubt Bec wouldn’t be too happy with this ranking…

Mike Wilczynski, spokesperson at National Accounts, said the brides and grooms “with large followings could be earning thousands of dollars a month if they plan their monetisation effectively”.
As the season continues, the estimated earnings per post will likely increase, opening the cast up to more brand partnership deals and careers in content creation.
“MAFS contestants generate strong engagement and curiosity,” Mike added. “For those who approach their platform strategically, that audience can become a sustainable business, whether that’s through Instagram partnerships, brand ambassadorships, or subscription content.
“Even if love isn’t on the cards, a content career could be the prize.”
