My Kitchen Rules 2026 fans thought they had seen enough of the drama after Jane and Shane’s departure in Round One. However, it turns out the chaos has only just begun!
The introduction of the Gatecrashers — besties Zoe and Zac, mother-and-son Sheridan and Ted, and hipsters Harry and Oliver — has caused quite the stir, with rivalries between the original teams (or ‘OGs’) and the newcomers already in play.
However, the biggest moment so far from Round Two is the introduction of a pescatarian into the mix — something the OGs have not been very happy about.
Zoe revealed that she’s a pescatarian — meaning she eats fish and seafood but no other meat — during Ted and Sheridan’s Instant Restaurant, resulting in some awkward dinner table moments as she didn’t touch any meal until dessert.
This resulted in both Angus and Simon comparing the Gatecrasher to Jane, confessing that Jane now looks like a “legend of the game” since at least she tasted the food.
This focus on the drama over the cooking has ruffled a few fans’ feathers, with many threatening to boycott the show entirely.
Speaking to WHO, Alisha and Deanne defended the show’s drama.

‘This show is a disgrace’
As fans were up in arms over casting a pescatarian on the show, many viewers pointed out that her involvement simply creates more drama for ratings, whether audiences like it or not.
“I feel the integrity of the show is being compromised for the sake of drama,” one fan wrote online.
“Its all for the drama,” another agreed, responding to people’s outrage over Zoe’s casting. “Its exactly what they want you to do. Talk about and keep watching the show.”
“This show is a disgrace,” a third chimed in.

Alisha and Deanne defend the show’s drama
Alisha and Deanne have been in quite a few tense situations on My Kitchen Rules this year. From walk-outs to fights around the table, the pair have had to defend their personalities and skillset on more than one occasion.
While they would, of course, prefer to be treated with respect around the table, they did point out that there’s nothing wrong with a little “drama” to keep viewers entertained.
“I think there always needs to be a little bit of something, a little bit of drama is always good for the viewers,” Alisha told WHO. “It’s exciting.
“About it all being about cooking, it does need to have some drama.”
