All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)
Set in the trenches of World War I, All Quiet on the Western Front follows German soldier Paul Bäumer as he enlists in the German Army at 17 years old.
After listening to a rousing and patriotic speech, Paul and his three close friends form an idealised and heroic vision of war, however, following their first night on the battleground of the Western Front, the soldier’s worldview is quickly shattered as they are confronted with the gruesome realities of trench warfare.
The Netflix Original film has since become one of the most successful to date, receiving nine Academy Award nominations and four Academy Awards wins.

Don’t Look Up (2021)
If you’re on the hunt for a poignant satire and an all-star cast, look no further than Netflix’s Don’t Look Up.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Ariana Grande, and Jonah Hill, the film follows astronomer Kate Dibiasky and Planetary Defense officer Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe as they discover an asteroid that they believe will destroy all life on Earth.
After being met with apathy by the President of the United States, Kate and Teddy launch a global media campaign to alert the masses of their findings, however, not everyone takes the news as seriously as they would have hoped.
Following the film’s release in 2021, Don’t Look Up set the record for most viewing hours in a week on Netflix, taking home the title of Netflix’s the second-most-watched film.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
After founding a technology company amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Miles Bron invites his friends to a getaway on his private island in Greece. Joining the group is Detective Benoit Blanc, who warns Miles that his five friends each have a desire to kill him.
With tensions high, one of Miles’ friends suddenly passes away after drinking from Miles’ glass, launching the group into a labyrinth of secrets, deceit, and betrayal.
Starring Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, and Kate Hudson, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story received great critical acclaim following its release, with the film being nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, two Golden Globe Award nominations, and six Critic’s Choice Movie Award nominations.

Tick, Tick… Boom! (2021)
Whether or not you’re an avid fan of musicals, Tick, Tick… Boom! is one Netflix Original you definitely need to add to your list.
Based on a true story, the film follows composer Jonathan Larson as he navigates the struggles of his life as a creative in 1990s New York City. Surrounded by friends, Jonathan becomes a dedicated devotee to his musical theatre play Superbia as he strives to achieve professional success before his 30th birthday.
Starring Andrew Garfield, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesús, Tick… Tick, Boom! has been widely regarded as one of the best new movie musicals, with Screen Rant ranking the film at #15 on their list of 35 Best Musicals of All Time.

The Fear Street Trilogy (2021)
Since starring in Stranger Things, it’s no secret that Sadie Sink has quickly become a master of action-packed drama, and if you love the unpredictable world of Hawkins, then Fear Street is a must-watch.
Based on R.L. Stine’s book series of the same name, The Fear Street Trilogy spans three different periods; Part One: 1994, Part Two: 1978, and Part Three: 1666.
With interwoven plot lines and edge-of-your-seat style drama, Fear Street follows the story of local teenagers who have come together to attempt to break a curse that has loomed over their town for hundreds of years.

The King (2019)
It’s no secret that we here at WHO are big fans of Timothée Chalamet and although he may be best known for starring in some of the internet’s favourite coming-of-age romances, The King is a cinematic epic that should be at the top of any historical film fan’s watchlist.
Based on William Shakespeare’s Henriad, Timothée stars as Henry, Prince of Wales who, after the sudden death of his father, is forced to give up his life of guilty pleasures and ascend to the throne as King Henry V of England.
The King also features a star-studded cast talent, including Joel Edgerton, Lily-Rose Depp, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Glynn-Carney.
