The newest instalment of the HBO series is called True Detective: Night Country, and stars Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster, alongside professional boxer-turned-actress, Kali Reis.
Each season of True Detective follows a different cast of lead detectives, as originated by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
The following seasons have attracted similarly popular and critically acclaimed stars, including Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughan, Rachel McAdams and Mahershala Ali.
True Detective: Night Country follows Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) as they investigate the disappearance of eight men from an arctic research station in Alaska.
Similar to other seasons, the detectives will be forced to confront their own demons along the way.
The series expects a triumphant return from Foster, who received a Golden Globe for her work in Guantanamo Bay legal drama, The Mauritanian, in 2021.
Foster is a Hollywood veteran actor, who won her first Best Actress Oscar in 1989 for The Accused, and followed it up in 1992 with a win for Silence Of The Lambs.
She is joined by Reis, a two-time world champion boxer and newcomer to the screen. Reis recently garnered critical praise for her role in the 2021 indie film, Catch A Fair One.
You can watch them both when season four, consisting of six episodes, premieres on January 15 on Binge, with new episodes dropping every Monday.
