One of our favourite things to do as avid fans is to visit the location or set of the TV show or film that we still can’t stop thinking about – even though we may have watched it a while ago.
From the post-apocalyptic landscapes of The Last of Us to the Sicilian beaches of The White Lotus, we’ve been granted some bucket-list-worthy locations to add to our travel itinerary this year.
It’s the perfect excuse to book that dream getaway we’ve been itching for, and to recreate some iconic scenes from some iconic shows and films.
Here, we’ve rounded up the places where you can experience some of your favourite moments from the biggest and trendiest movies and TV shows of 2023.
Sicily, Italy – The White Lotus
If, like most pop-culture-savvy people, you were hooked on season two of The White Lotus then you may be dreaming of your very own Italian adventure.
Located in Sicily, the San Domenico Palace is the real-life White Lotus resort, perched on a clifftop to offer gorgeous views of Mount Etna and the ocean.

Alberta, Canada – The Last of Us
Like many post-apocalyptic dramas, The Last of Us includes many scenes set across different locations, each hauntingly stunning in their own right.
And while the show takes place in the U.S., the scenes were actually filmed in Alberta in Canada, with familiar sights like the Calgary Courts Center and the Alberta Legislature Building.
According to TripAdvisor, the perfect time to book is from June to August when temps are warm and pleasant, so now is truly the time to start planning.
Bucharest, Romania – Wednesday
Although Wednesday, Netflix’s recent spin-off of The Addams Family, is set in Jericho, Vermont, most of the filming actually took place in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
The interiors of the iconic neo-gothic Nevermore Academy were filmed in the historic houses of Casa Niculescu-Dorobantu and Palatul Monteoru.
You can visit all the locations from the series on a day tour from Bucharest, including the historic Calea Victoriei, the Cantacuzino Castle, and the Bucharest Botanical Garden.
Atlanta, U.S. – Black Panther
While most of the Black Panther movies were filmed in studios, there are a few locations in Atlanta that you can visit to get a taste of certain scenes.
The High Museum of Art is where Erik Kilmonger steals a vibranium weapon in the first film, and City Hall appeared in the post-credit scene.
Mary Ross Waterfront Park in Brunswick is where some ship and underwater scenes were shot in Wakanda Forever, and Bouckaert Farm in Chattahoochee Hills is the backdrop for the battle between the Dora Milaje and Border Tribe.
Rome, Italy – Fast & Furious
Another excuse to visit Italy – not that we need one – is to walk the very streets where the iconic high-speed chases took place in Fast X, the latest instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
You can explore the Colosseum on a guided tour which will bring you to areas that are typically not open to the public, and other Roman sites like Ponte Umberto I and Giuseppe Garibaldi Square.
The film was also shot in Genzano, a Castelli Romani town an hour’s drive from central Rome, and along the streets of Via Bruno Buozzi and Via Italo Belardi.
