Kelly is playing to win. And while she expects a lot of her team, she has the patience, skill and absolute faith in her team to steer them to victory —FINALLY taking that crown from Delta!
SAM PERRY
Pre-Voice: Loop artist Sam has toured the world behind turntables. Now it’s time for his voice to take centre stage.
How Kelly has helped: Kelly always believed Sam was more than just a knob-twiddling DJ. She is working on strengthening his vocal abilities and making daring song choices.
The Result: Boy George now admits he may have got it wrong about Sam. Kelly has done a great job of showcasing the WA-born performer’s varied talents. “[It’s been] super stressful,” says Sam. “I mean, I had three superstars suggesting that I couldn’t sing in a singing competition!” He adds it meant the world that Kelly believed in him from the start.
BELLA PAIGE
Pre-Voice: Sixteen year-old Bella appeared on The Voice Kids and represented Australia in Junior Eurovision. Now she says she is ready to catapult into the pop world.
How Kelly is helping: Kelly knows only too well what it’s like to be thrust onto a world stage from a young age, performing with Destiny’s Child from a teen. She’s got plenty of advice to give and Bella’s eager to learn.
The Result: Bella’s rendition of ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ by Demi Lovato was a knock-out, thanks to Kelly’s arrangement and vocal coaching. “Kelly’s style of music is amazing, and I feel like we connect in that way, and we have a similar style, so I felt the closest connection to her,” says Bella.
AP D’ANTONIO
Pre-Voice: A professional indie blues and roots musician, AP has been playing guitar and singing since he was little.
How Kelly is helping: Kelly sees a lot of potential in AP and is keen to try to coax him out of his comfort zone in an attempt to get the best out of him. She believes in him so much she stole him from Joe and saved him as a wildcard to further his time on the show.
The Result: “With her gospel background, we connect. We’ve had genuine chats. She’s such a lovely lady, but she gets where I come from,” says AP. “Kelly has done this— she’s passionate about it, and she’s passionate about me. We really bonded over my style of music.”
BROCK ASHBY
Pre-Voice: This body transformation coach wants to change from a fitness instructor to a full-fledged professional singer.
How Kelly has helped: Kelly saw real star potential in Brock—not just all those muscles. His music touched her deeply and she’s has focused on fine-tuning his voice to deliver emotional performances.
The Result: “All I see when I see Kelly is the success and the voice and the dance moves. And when I saw her crying, from the start, it’s made me realise that even stars are human and they go through their own journeys,” Brock says. “I hugged her and I could feel she was feeling real emotions. It broke down a lot of walls.”
