Samuel Johnson waltzed to victory on Monday night as he was crowned champion of Dancing With The Stars.
Despite Courtney Act tipped as the bookies favourite, the 41-year-old came out on top, wining $50,000 for his chosen charity, Love Your Sister. The foundation was set up by the former Secret Life of Us star and his sister, Connie, who died of breast cancer in 2017.
‘I just want to say, Courtney is the better dancer!’ he admitted graciously.
In the lead up to the results being announced, Samuel yelled: ‘I am trying to kick cancer in the face. Help me!’
Sam and dance partner Jorja Freeman opened the grand finale with an encore of their ‘Mr Bojangles’ jazz dance from week six, before going on to perform a freestyle number. Both dances earned an impressive 29 points each from the judges.
However, fans were left shocked by Sam’s surprise win, with many believing Courtney should have taken home the coveted glitter ball trophy.
‘I mean Courtney Act has been on the top of her and this game throughout the whole series – but hey,’ one person wrote on Twitter.
‘Courtney, you are the winner in my eyes,’ another viewer tweeted.
