Wilkinson was told my Williams’ reps that if she brought up the cartoon drawn by Australian Mike Knight (see below)that the 36-year-old Tennis champ would have “got up and walked out” of the room.

“I know that would have been great tabloid TV to have her walk off, but I was actually more interested in her answers to the US Open questions,” The Project co-host told viewers.

Although she didn’t ask about the cartoon, the former Today show host did ask four questions about the tennis match, including the fact that her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, admitted to coaching from the sideline.

“I just don’t understand what he was talking because I asked him … And he said he made a motion,” she said.

“OK, so you made a motion and now you’re telling people you were coaching. OK.”

Williams also spoke about her good friend and new royal Meghan Markle, revealing that the pair had just been texting that morning.

“We have known each other for a long time,” she said. “We really are relying on each other a lot lately.”
