SIX MONTHS PRIOR
“This is the time to experiment with colour or a new cut, particularly if you’re looking to go for a drastic change but you’re unsure whether you’ll love it,” says Xydis. There is still enough time to make a decision and adapt to any change.
THREE MONTHS PRIOR
“Ensure your hair receives a fresh colour if need be, and a trim to keep the hair healthy,” notes Xydis. If hair is dull or dry, invest in an in-salon treatment for extra nurture.
THE WEEK OF …
Xydis recommends a final trim if hair is showing any lacklustre signs, and a hair mask to ensure all strands are full of moisture and to avoid any further damage.
EXPERT TIP
“I’d recommend visiting the salon for a trim every six to eight weeks to keep your ends healthy. Colour really depends on your preference, however root touch-ups are best every four to six weeks and highlights roughly every eight to 10 weeks,” says Xydis.
