MAFS 2019 is well under way and oh my – what a series it is turning about to be.
This year has brought pretty much everything we’ve ever hoped for and then some.
We have a virgin (well, we did have), a walkout, tantrums, foot-stomping, tears and everything in between.
We’ve also got some brides with some very ahem … interesting ideas about appearances, particularly when it comes to hair and makeup.
We’re not trying to be mean-spirited here and we definitely don’t want to shame anyone and finally can we be clear on the fact that we firmly believe that women should wear whatever makes them feel most confident and accordingly beautiful, but girls … seriously … step away from the beauty cabinet for a moment will you please.
PLEASE.
Okay – we’re going to be up-front here. We’re talking to you Elizabeth but also you too Ning and all right, yes, also you Martha.

The thing is you’re all gorgeous. Honestly. A stunning trio of women.
But it can be hard to see that natural beauty when it is so hidden under heavy makeup, ratty-looking hair extensions and harshly drawn brows.
Clearly you look in the mirror and like what you see.
And that’s important – the most important – but would you maybe consider toning it down a bit and seeing if you might learn to like what you see? Because the truth is we do.
Lizzie – you have the sweetest, most innocent-looking beauty to you when you’re not hiding behind a full face of makeup that would not be out of place on RuPaul’s runway.
Honestly. Your almond-shaped eyes sparkle, your nose is the cutest! But we can’t see either under all that slap!
Ning – your skin is heaven. Your cheekbones too.
And that pout! We’re deeply envious. But when you draw on those harsh, angled, kinda angry eyebrows it’s hard to focus on anything else and even when you flash that gorgeous smile of yours, you look a little scary.

And Martha … oh Martha.
It’s clear you adore Kim Kardashian-West and that she is your inspiration in every way. That’s cool. Kimmy K is one fine-looking woman, but she is a reality TV star who is making millions out of playing a character if you will.
And this might seem pretty obvious but the real Kim Kardashian has already snagged that role. So there’s no point in auditioning by duplicating her look.
Why not develop your own? You have everything you need, what with that incredible figure of yours and those soulful eyes, that crazy-awesome hair. Perhaps you could stop posturing a’la Kardashian and get comfortable in your own skin. It’s a fine one if you ask us.
