She has one of the most enviable bodies in Hollywood but Sofia Vergara admits she has one big regret when it comes to beauty. “In my 20s, I started to use sunblock on my face,” she tells PeopleStyle in this week’s issue. “I wish I had put it on my chest too.”
Now the Modern Family star insists she’s religious about applying SPF daily. “I do it now,” she adds. “I think it’s too late, but what can I do?”
This week the 44-year-old actress, who married actor Joe Manganiello last November, also launches her newest perfume, So Very Sofia by Sofia Vergara with Avon that includes the essence of Flor de Mayo orchid, which is from Vergara’s native Colombia. “I wanted to incorporate something that would make me want to wear it,” she says. “It smells really good. Not like an old lady flower scent.”
Perfecting the scent meant testing it out first on her husband and 23-year-old son, Manolo. “I make Joe smell it, my son smell it, everybody,” Vergara says. “I like to hear what people have to say when I walk into an elevator or car. You want it to attract other people.”
Being a busy businesswoman, Vergara says the key to balancing it all is learning how to delegate. “It’s very difficult for women to be entrepreneurs, even more difficult than men because we have to deal with more,” she says. “We are more involved with our houses. We are more involved with our children. And then if we’re working, we need to be there, so we have a lot more to handle than men.”
“You have to surround yourself with people who help and support you,” she adds. “It’s impossible to do everything—and do it right—if you are doing it by yourself.”
