Instagram fave Tegan Martin has been named as a face of beauty brand ModelCo – a coup that has left the modelling world stunned.
Until this happened Tegan was best known for winning the Miss Universe back in 2014 and for posting cute swimsuit shots on social media.
Now she’s stepped squarely onto the world stage having snagged a role that in the past has been held by newly-minted bride Hailey Bieber and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
The company is known for its collaborations with the world’s hottest models and fashion designers too (ModelCo released a range co-created with Karl Lagerfeld) is pretty excited to be working with Tegan too.
“I love nothing more than supporting Australian talent and Tegan is the quintessential Australian girl that everyone loves, making her the perfect alignment to ModelCo Tan,” says ModelCo’s CEO and founder Shelley Sullivan.
Shelley admires Tegan but the relationship is deeper than just that.
The pair know one another personally following a stint on the TV series Celebrity Apprentice.
And while appearing on the series together, Tegan fell in love with Shelley’s brand and its products.
“I first tried ModelCo when Shelley gave me some on set when we were filming Celebrity Apprentice together a few years ago – I’ve been a fan of the range ever since,” she says.
“My favourite product to date is the Tan Water, I have super dry skin and this tanning innovation hydrates and illuminates instantly!”
Tegan is a fan of the range but also, faux tan in general. A perfect fit given she is now the official ambassador for ModelCo’s tanning range.
“Regretfully I did a lot of sun baking in my early teens which has now caused visible damage to my skin and considering both of my parents have had skin cancers cut out, I really had to change my perception on sun baking,” she says.
“I’m a huge advocate for ‘faking it, not baking it’, especially when you can find products like ModelCo that look so real and flawless.”
Tegan took to Instagram to announce the appointment making it clear she was delighted by the pairing.
I am SO EXCITED to announce that I have joined the @modelco team as the ambassador for their tanning range!
There are so many no fuss products that I want to share with you over the coming months (I have not been seen without the tanning water on, on this Thailand trip).
