Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios opted out of playing singles at the 2026 Australian Open amid ongoing fitness concerns.
However, the injured pair, dubbed the “Special Ks” were dumped from the men’s doubles in the first round.
And although things make have not worked out for them professionally this time, their courtside support makes losing a lot easier!

The tennis star did not shy away from PDA during a night out on Saturday, holding his new lady close as they enjoyed a date at a Melbourne restaurant.
Following his split from long-term girlfriend Costeen Hatzi in March last year, Kyrgios is now dating Melbourne-based marketing manager, Alexia Alessi.
And the businesswoman is the clone of his former love with striking features, long black hair, and a designer outfit (of course).
Alexa and Kyrgios looked smitten in the photos published by the Daily Mail with his hand and wrapped his arm around her waist.

Nick Kyrgios’ former flame is Costeen Hatzi, who he made his relationship public with in December 2021.

“I’ve got the best girlfriend in the world. I’ve just got so many people around me, they just support me,” he said of his girlfriend after his fourth round win against Brandon Nakashima at Wimbledon ’22.
He added that he used to struggle to “switch off” from tennis and the social media response to his matches, but Costeen has helped him with that.
“That’s a big part of my growth. Obviously being obsessed with my girlfriend helps, but I’m just able to let that go and enjoy my dinner and wake up the next day and separate tennis and life.”
The 26-year-old tennis player is clearly smitten with his new girlfriend – who he affectionately calls “Cos” – and he’s made his feelings known to his 1.7 million Instagram followers. Meanwhile, her follower count has been flying up as she documents their blossoming romance on social media.
How did Nick Kyrgios and Costeen Hatzi meet?
It’s not known for sure, but based on their affectionate posts it appears they met on a night out in Sydney.
In an early post about their relationship, one of Costeen’s friends commented “God bless Bedouin” seemingly referring to the Double Bay bar. The 21-year-old responded calling her friend the “best wingwoman.”
Looking back to a November 2021 post of Costeen with her friends, Nick commented to say: “I guess this is when it happened” followed by a string of emojis.
The tennis player has also called a November 18 Instagram post by Costeen the “photo that started everything.”
When did Nick Kyrgios and Costeen Hatzi start dating?
Nick’s last relationship ended in October, 2021. It’s not exactly clear when he began dating Costeen but he confirmed their relationship on December 30, 2021, after the pair had been spotted out and about together in Sydney.
“I’m blessed,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is to the New Year and a chance for all of us to get it right.”
Since then, he’s posted so much #CosteenContent that he’s created a specific Instagram Stories highlight dedicated to their romance. Love in the digital age!
Meanwhile, Costeen has been documenting her new life by his side including whirlwind trips and gifts including extravagant roses and a Louis Vuitton purse.
Sharing a carousel of images on her page in early 2022, Costeen revealed she was “so grateful” for her time with him at the Australian Open and “so proud” of Nick.
He commented to say: “I’m so grateful for you, I’m the luckiest person in the world.”

As Nick won his first match of the 2022 Australian Open, Costeen sat front and centre in the player’s box to cheer on her man.
Revealing she was “so proud” of Nick following his defeat of Liam Broady, she remained by his side through his run in the Men’s Singles and in the Men’s Doubles.
“I got ur back like u got mine,” Nick said of his girlfriend being courtside.
She has since travelled to the UK with him to see him compete at Wimbledon.
