Prince Harry hasn’t even left the UK yet and already he’s fielding job offers from big US businesses!

Yes, as Harry prepares to jet to Canada to meet up with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their insanely cute eight-month-old kid, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor (try saying that 10 times fast), following the couple’s announcement that they plan to become “financially independent”, global fast-food chain Burger King has extended a job offer to the Duke.
“If you’re looking for a job, we have a new crown for you,” read an ad that international burger conglomerate put out amid the current royal Megxit drama.
“We have a proposition for you: do as thousands of people and take your first steps in the world of work with us,” continued the jokey job ad.
“You know that the crown will suit you perfectly.”
Of course, they’re right – the headgear would look great atop that head. And as sixth in line to the throne, Harry was – let’s face it – unlikely to ever become king. So the offer of a shiny new crown for flipping a few burger patties could be pretty enticing!
But there was more to the tasty offer:
“After so many years of living as dukes, it is time for you to start eating like kings.”
How could he possibly refuse?
As far as we know, he actually hasn’t said no yet – maybe he’s in salary negotiations? Or working out his visa requirements? But he’d better jump on it fast if he’s keen, because at the bottom of the letter of offer was a link to apply for a job at BK, and no doubt Harry’s got some fierce competition amongst the masses.
Just to be sure that their message was royally noted, Burger King also tweeted:
“You always have a job in our kingdom.”
And “@ harry, this royal family offers part-time positions.”
In a daring and unexpected move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced on January 8 that they’ve effectively resigned from the royal family – potentially leaving the pair searching for new jobs.
In a shocking statement issued on their Instagram account, the couple— who’ve been estranged from the royal family for some time now— confirmed they were taking a “step back” from their royal duties, with plans to split their time between the United Kingdom and Canada.
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to support Her Majesty The Queen,” they announced.
“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.”
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
It seems that Meghan, too, may have scored herself a new position, amid reports she signed a voiceover deal with Disney.
Although the Suits actress did the work for Disney before it emerged that she had quit her duties as a monarch, and Disney donated her fee to an elephant charity, some are suggesting she is dipping her toe back into work in Hollywood at an opportune time.
“According to one report, during tense talks before Christmas, senior members of the royal family accused the couple of already signing a deal with ‘firms including Disney,'” wrote The Times.
