The star who has been happily married to wife Deborra-Lee Furness for 21-years confessed: “I’m thrilled and I’m proud that Australia got there!”

“I wish it happened earlier but let’s move on… I just feel like this is a really great step – not only in Australia – but hopefully we can shine the light onto other countries in the world,” the 49-year-old declared.

Jackman tells WHO it’s important that we “Just celebrate people loving! Let’s not worry about who they’re loving – just that they’re loving. Let’s celebrate it and it’s no-one’s business except theirs.”

“I think it’s a no-brainer, so I’m actually thrilled it happened.”

The famous actor still proudly calls Australia home – so much so – that he and Furness, 62, are excited to spend the festive season Down Under.

“We have four families from America for years have promised to come down here (to Australia), so we’re going to be like that Chevy Chase movie National Lampoon’sVacation. We’re going to be like the Griswolds – 22 of us in a minivan going all over the place,” he shared his family’s Christmas plans.

The couple shares two children, a daughter, Ava Eliot and son, Oscar Maximilian.
