The public has big feelings about nepo babies, and Brooklyn Beckham is no stranger to them.
But, after releasing a scathing statement about the ongoing feud with his parents, the 26-year-old finally gave critics a reason to stop and think.
He addressed rumours that have been swirling around the tabloids since his wedding to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz, and notably, Brooklyn insists he “does not want to reconcile” with his family.
Here is a chronological look at every story that came out about the feud and whether, according to the eldest Beckham son, they are true or false.
Wedding Dress Gate
The rumour:
The family feud is said to have started during Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding preparation in 2022, when Nicola refused to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria.
However, in October 2022, Nicola told Grazia US that was not the case and that she was in fact planning on wearing a wedding dress designed by her mother-in-law.
She added that she was “truly so excited” to be able to wear a Victoria Beckham design as she “thought that was such a beautiful story.”
The flame of ‘wedding dress gate’ was then fanned when Victoria not only wore her own dress design on the day, but also dressed four of her friends and her own mother in her designs.
Eva Longoria, Nadia Ferreria, Zanna Roberts Rassi, and Romeo Beckham’s then-girlfriend Mia Regan all wore custom VB gowns to Brooklyn and Nicola’s big day.
Brooklyn’s side of the story:
In his statement, Brooklyn claimed that his mum “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design.”
He added that this incident forced Nicola to “urgently find a new dress” just weeks before their big day, opting for a Valentino design instead.

First Dance Drama
The rumour:
After the A-list wedding, the online gossip account Deux Moi shared an anonymous tip that there had been tension between Brooklyn and his family on the big day, and also noted an awkward Marc Anthony moment.
“Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding, and before the [first dance] song began, he asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!'”
A second source said that “it wasn’t appropriate” and that everyone saw “Nicola run from the room crying.”
“Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn’t understand was why.”
Brooklyn’s side of the story:
Sharing more details about this moment, Brooklyn claimed that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola, adding some pretty scandalous details about this moment.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance, to a romantic love song.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life”.

The Ex-Files
The rumour:
Brooklyn’s ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull has been a huge point of contention in the Beckham family as she is now dating his younger brother, Romeo.
Brooklyn’s side of the story:
In his statement, Brooklyn address the rumour and how “uncomfortable” her presence makes him and Nicola.
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one.
“My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.” Awkward…
David’s Birthday Fiasco
The rumour:
The Beckhams are big on ‘family’ and portray this value across their socials, with both Victoria and David Beckham often sharing photos of them and their children together.
However, Brooklyn and Nicola were notably absent at David’ 50th Birthday bash, and rumours started to circulate that they simply choose not to attend.
Their absence was seemingly confirmed by David, who posted a series of photos to Instagram, none of which featured Brooklyn or his wife, despite featuring all of his other children.
Brooklyn’s side of the story:
Despite flying from their hometown of Los Angeles to London specifically to attend the birthday party, the Peltz-Beckhams were reportedly not seen by anyone at any of the events, which spanned multiple days.
He wrote: “Despite this [the disrespect shown to Nicola], we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.”
Brooklyn went on to say that David refused all of their attempts to meet and insisted they must attend “his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner”.
He added that when his dad finally agreed to see him, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited, something he branded a “slap in the face.”
The 26-year-old went on to say that when his family travelled to LA later, they refused to see him at all.
Who Blocked Who
The rumour:
In December 2025, Brooklyn’s youngest brother Cruz shared an article written by the Daily Mail headlined: “David and Victoria UNFOLLOW estranged son Brooklyn, 26, as it’s revealed he’ll spend Christmas with wife Nicola Peltz’s billionaire parents amid family feud”.
The 20-year-old wrote: “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
Brooklyn’s side of the story:
However, Brooklyn slammed these rumours in his statement and insisted that it was him who was blocked- not the other way around.
“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders,” he said.
“Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.
It is literally one brother’s word against the other. And either way, it’s all truly heartbreaking.
