Meghan shared an inspirational quote to the Sussex Royal Instagram account that she shares with her husband, Prince Harry, on Monday December 16, and the post has left fans fuming.

The Duchess of Sussex posted a quote from author Anthony J. D’Angelo, which read, “Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”

She captioned the post with a message to followers: “A thoughtful quote for the day – wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!”

However, despite Meghan’s positive message, many royal fans took offence and called for the former actress to “practice what you preach”.

“Caring for your ailing father should be a priority,” one user wrote, referring to Meghan’s rift with dad Thomas Markle, who failed to attend her royal wedding after allegedly suffering a heart attack.

“Do YOU care for your family? Do YOU ask your relatives if they are okay?” another fan commented.

The couple spoke out in a their documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, confessing they’re greatly affected by the criticism.

Since then, rumours have been swirling that the couple may be moving to the United States to get away from the alleged chaos that surrounds them in the United Kingdom.

They have already announced they won’t spend Christmas with the rest of the royal family this year, and are instead spending the festive period with Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland.

Meghan’s misguided Instagram post comes after the Duchess came under fire by a friend of Prince Charles, who accused her of making a mockery of the royal family and attempting to turn her new life into a TV show.

Actress Stefanie Powers, who is a longtime friend of the Prince of Wales, opened up during a talk with The Daily Beast.

Stefanie accused the Duchess of trying to be the centre of attention: “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: The Adventures of Meghan in the Palace,” she said.

Meghan “wants to be a star, which, I’m sorry, is not what she is supposed to be doing,” she continued.

“Meghan’s role is not about being a star. It’s her job to be Harry’s wife, not change the royal dynamic.”
