The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their birthday well wishes in a comment on a photograph of George, which had been uploaded to the Kensington Palace Instagram account.

George’s parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, had added three new photographs to the social media account to celebrate George’s big day.

And it was on the snap of George in a green polo top that his aunt and uncle, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, left their message.

“Happy Birthday 🎂🎈! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!” read the comment from the @SussexRoyal account.

It didn’t take long for the haters to weigh in with their opinions on the royal couple’s comment.

“I know that this is their nephew, but they should treat him with respect. And first of all, he is for them Prince George!” one person wrote.

“This greeting is obv [sic] not written by the usual admin of this account…. so informal especially for a future King,” wrote another.

“He is HRH Prince George to you! Don’t forget to mention!” another said.

“You can’t bring yourself to use his title, huh?” one other wrote.
