The royal family headed to the races on Tuesday for the first day of Royal Ascot.
And while Kate and William enjoyed the splendour of the day, there was one royal couple who were conspicuously absent.

Meghan Markle – who made her Royal Ascot debut last year – and her husband Prince Harry were no shows at this year’s race event.
The Duchess of Sussex made her first formal post-baby appearance at the Trooping the Colour on June 8.
But it was always unlikely that she’d turn up to the races, as she’s still officially on maternity leave following the birth of baby Archie, on May 6.
Several royals joined in the fun of race day.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Zara and Mike Tindall, and Queen Elizabeth enjoyed the festivities.
And while the weather turned on its British best – and the umbrellas came out – the Duchess’s smiles weren’t dampened by the rain.
While we’re unlikely to see Meghan at the race event this year (which runs for five days), we may catch a glimpse of Prince Harry at some point who will perhaps attend Royal Ascot without his wife later this week.
