Sir Elton John, 69, was performing at the Leicestershire County Cricket Club in England on Saturday, when he took issue with the way guards were treating fans.
According to reports, security guards asked dancing fans to sit down, much to the Bennie & The Jets singer’s displeasure. All he wanted was for his fans to enjoy themselves and have a good time – and rightly so.
“Security guards please sit down otherwise I am not going to do the rest of the concert and you’ll get in f**king trouble,” John said, according to multiple reports.
“Now sit down, you pr**ks!” He added.
After his onstage outburst, Sir Elton John thanked the guards for listening to him, “Thank you guys, thank you.”
Following the incident, a spokesman for the star told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “He did ask a few of the security people to relax and let the audience stand up and dance if they wanted to.”
This wasn’t the first time the singer, who just released his 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night in February, has told off guards at one of his concerts.
Last year during another show in England, he said: “You get a f**king uniform on and you think you’re Hitler … we’re not having it, p**s off!”
Fans don’t seem to mind his outbursts however; instead they keep on buying his music. A Good Heart from his latest album, just debuted on No. 30 on the Billboard’s Adult Contemporary charts, extending the singers record for the most appearances in the nearly 55-year history of the AC ranking. He is closely followed by superstar Barbara Streisand who, with 64 hits – 8 less than John – comes in at second place.
