Hugh Jackman has taken the big step we all must eventually do and had his first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The 52-year-old Australian actor, best known for playing Wolverine in the X-Men films, took to Instagram overnight to reveal that he has taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Wolverine’s healing ability can’t save me from Covid,” he joked in the caption, smiling through his black face mask with a wrinkled eye smile, “but the vaccine can. Get it!”
And Hugh wasn’t the only person in the room excited.
Young New York nurse Jacky Jia shared the post on his Instagram Stories, adding, “had to use an adamantium needle. Show ‘em what it means to be NYC strong.”
While it’s currently unclear which COVID vaccine Jackman took, the Greatest Showman star is currently in New York City. According to the ABC, the United States is rolling out three vaccines – Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson – so it’s likely Jackman took one of them.
Last night, Prime Minister Scott Morrison advised Australians under the age of 50 to avoid the current vaccine option here – the AstraZeneca – for Pfizer, meaning that we could be getting the same dose as Hugh.
Like many who are living in COVID heavy cities, Jackman has spent the majority of his recent time inside and in lockdown. And, like many of us, his time alone has led to a variety of new hobbies and passion projects, including his own bread-making business, Baked by Hugh.
