I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is back and a new line-up of celebrities are officially in The Jungle.
While Julia Morris and Robert Irwin won’t be participating in bush tucker trials anytime soon, Morris did reveal to WHO that her co-host faced a rather gruelling reality just to make it onto our screens.
Raving about Irwin’s fierce work ethic, the presenter, 57, revealed he came “directly from the dance floor to the jungle floor.”
Robert Irwin’s back-to-back filming schedules
While speaking about how proud she is of Irwin, Morris revealed he only had one night of sleep after arriving back from the US (where he filmed and won Dancing With The Stars) before starting to film this season’s I’m A Celeb.
“When I say [Irwin] came directly, he had one sleep, like overnight, and we started work the next day,” she said.
Morris commended how mature and well-rounded her 22-year-old co-host is.
“He’s a perfect human,” she said to WHO. “I’m not saying he’s perfect in every way; I just mean he has become the best version of himself.
“His humour has definitely gone up a gear [this season].”

The little-known way Irwin and Morris kept their ‘energies up’
Morris explained Irwin’s time on Dancing With The Stars influenced their time filming I’m A Celeb. She joked the treehouse, where much of their filming for the season takes place, became a ballroom, with the pair often breaking into dance when they needed a quick energy hit.
“Whether we were on camera or off camera, there’s a number of times where Robert was like ‘body rolls!’ and we both would do body rolls,” she said. “Talk about keeping your energies up.”
Behind-the-scenes changes sparked campmate tension
Morris also revealed to WHO that, since all the episodes were pre-recorded and live public voting has been scrapped this season, the contestants were forced to vote for who would be participating in each of the bush tucker trials.
This ultimately spilled over into the group dynamic and sparked “discord” in camp. Yikes.

However, Morris explained this “great twist” will have us all on the edge of our seats while watching along.
“We are calling it the toughest series yet, because the celebrities have to choose who goes into the trials and that causes quite a bit of discord in the camp,” she told WHO.
“Some of the celebrities weren’t quite understanding of the format that they had to choose, they had no choice… Not everyone doesn’t take it personally.”
However, the public will have the ultimate decision of who is crowned the King or Queen of The Jungle – with three different finale episodes already recorded. Finalists flew home after filming their ‘winning scenes’ without knowing if they’re the winners or not, because it’s ultimately not been decided yet.
