Laura Byrne and Matty J might be locked down with the spicy cough, but of course, that hasn’t stopped them from keeping us entertained as they navigate isolation with their two cute, high-energy daughters.
Last night, Laura took to her Instagram Stories to let us know how she was going with her COVID-19 symptoms.
“Alrighty, on today’s episode of ‘I can’t taste anything’, let’s do this,” she said, just before biting into a lemon.
“Like a tiny bit,” she told viewers.
“But I could eat the whole thing,” she added, continuing to eat the raw lemon.
She also revealed via Stories that her youngest daughter, Lola, had tested negative to COVID-19, despite herself, Matt, and their eldest daughter Marlie-Mae, having tested positive.
She also publicised a discussion between herself in Matt, where they figured out how many days they had left of isolation in their Sydney apartment.
“The waiting is the hardest part at the moment,” she revealed.
“The sickness has subsided … just tired.”
Laura and Matt realised they were in hot water with COVID-19 on Christmas Eve, when Laura returned a positive test.
The family were en route to visit Matt’s family in Brisbane, and made it as far as Coffs Harbour before having to return to Sydney to begin isolation, meaning their Christmas plans changed very swiftly.
With Matt only testing positive this week, it’s likely the pair won’t be out before New Year’s Eve either, and will continue to ‘enjoy’ time with their daughters.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS Insta fam! I hope wherever you are you’re spending today with the ones you love,” Laura wrote on Christmas Day, their first full day in isolation.
“If this Christmas is not as merry as you had hoped (and deserve), I hope you can find the funny in the f*cked and know that better days are coming,” she added.
The couple are not the only reality stars to be affected by COVID-19, as cases surge across NSW.
The Block’s Josh Packham has also been isolating and waiting for the infection to pass, and a few members of the Love Island cast were also recently isolating together in Melbourne when one of their group tested positive.
