Are the female rivalries ruining the MAFS love stories this season?

This year’s season of MAFS has been particularly hard on female friendships, and tonight’s commitment ceremony on March 15, 2026, ended with not one, but two brides walking off set.

After Juliette slammed Gia for not backing her up about the text-message “receipts” she had from Bec, Juliette left the experiment, and Gia left the ceremony without even telling her husband, Scott.

Fans previously noticed during Wednesday night’s dinner party that Gia “left Juliette out to dry” and didn’t come to her defence over her comments about Bec. Viewers noticed this again tonight as Gia was reluctant to stand by Juliette after Juliette revealed the “receipts” Gia had sent to her to defend herself during her time on the couch.

The girls’ explosive behaviour at the commitment ceremony follows Joel, Juliette’s ‘husband’, telling WHO that he didn’t agree with the way the women ‘supported’ each other during the experiment.

MAFS groom speaks out about fake ‘girls girl’ behaviour

Speaking to WHO, Joel sarcastically told us about the definition of ‘girl’s girl’ that he saw playing out during MAFS.

“It means, oh yeah, ‘I’m a girl’s girl. And, even though she murdered somebody, I’m going to hide the body and lie to the cops,'” he said. “‘Cause I’m a girl’s girl. Girl’s girls, backup girls, no matter what they do.'”

Joel added that he felt people like Gia helped “condone bad behaviour”, like Juliette’s cruel words to him last week about his teddy bear.

“They encourage it,” he added. “It’s bulls–t.”

Cosmina Naum, a self-worth and relationship coach, also told WHO that the conflict between the women this season was drawing attention away from what they’re really there for – their relationships.

“When group dynamics become this intense, the experiment can start to revolve more around social alliances and positioning than the couples themselves,” she told us.

“So much energy goes into navigating the group drama and protecting each other that it takes valuable time away from actually building the relationship itself, things like exploring shared values, developing trust, emotional intimacy and long-term compatibility, which are the foundations of a sustainable relationship.”

“Whether those relationships hold once the external pressure disappears will depend much more on those foundations than on the temporary alliances formed as a way to build perceived relational safety within the experiment.”

Juliette dramatically walks out of the commitment ceremony

Juliette and Joel were on the couch with the experts when the intruder bride claimed the experiment wasn’t for her and she was done with the whole thing. This was despite her and Joel perhaps being in the best place they have been so far.

After Joel spoke about his “strong” chemistry with Juliette, she said she saw him in a new and more positive light as well.

However, she added that she didn’t believe Joel was a “rock” for her at the dinner party when she was apologising for her “crude words” to Bec, which involved dropping the C-bomb and attacking her intellect.

Juliette hoped Joel would have fought for her the same way Danny fought for Bec.

Alessandra Rampolla questioned Juliette about why she felt the need to say those words to Bec that caused such a commotion at the couple’s retreat.

“Honestly, I’ve seen Bec say much, much worse,” she said, hinting at Gia’s “receipts” of Bec’s poor behaviour.

“I have screenshots of what you’ve said about Alissa and David,” Juliette told a stunned Bec. “It was vile!”

Gia and Scott, meanwhile, were grinning when all of this happened.

When Juliette mentioned that Gia had sent her the screenshots and that the two women had “a plan” to address the texts, Gia got defensive.

“I said bad things in there too, I didn’t really want them out,” Gia explained.

Juliette then cryptically said she was “covering up so much” and that she didn’t believe the experiment was for her – never mind the fact that her ‘husband’ was sitting there with no clue that any of this was going to happen!

“Gia, what the f**k?” Juliette questioned as she stormed out.

She then yelled at Joel, calling him a “pig” and a “dog” before leaving the experiment for good.

“You just completely threw me under the bus, disgusting,” she said, refusing to answer any of his questions.

Gia’s shock exit

Back in the room, Gia attempted to defend the screenshots, saying that she and Bec had said some bad things before she left to go to the bathroom, but she actually left for the night without telling Scott.

Scott, who waited for Gia until the ceremony ended, appeared shocked and hurt when he found out, saying they’d just had a great couch session, adding, “Sometimes the other girls and their bulls**, they can interfere.

“I’m just a bit jittery. You can’t leave like that!”

Scott and Gia have overcome bigger things than this in the experiment so far, but could Gia’s drama with the other women mean the end of their ‘marriage’…
