The feud between Bec and Rachel continues at the couples retreat, leaving Bec and Danny on the sidelines while the rest of the couples enjoy all the sun and food that the countryside has to offer. As fans watch alliances form and lies and apologies unravel, WHO spoke to intruder groom Joel about what he thinks of the drama and Bec’s behaviour.
And, the groom gave a surprising response, leading us to believe that we may have found ourselves a Bec apologist?

Bec feels isolated from the other couples
If you missed the comment Bec made on Monday night’s episode that sent the experiment spiralling, it’s not unlike the fights we’ve seen previously this season.
In an poorly worded joke told in a speech to the entire group, Bec flippantly referenced Rachel and Stephen’s increased intimacy, congratulating the pair on their “fingerb–g.”
While the comment was not made with “malice intent”, as Bec has repeatedly said, Rachel was hurt regardless, resulting in ruined girls’ nights and Rachel’s husband being Stephen caught in the crossfire for trying to resolve the tension.

Now, the couples retreat is divided.
As the other contestants side with Rachel, Bec has been left feeling isolated and like everyone has “ganged-up” on her.
Either way, WHO spoke to one groom who seems to still be sticking by Bec, even after the experiment.

Joel is standing by Bec and her behaviour
In an interview with WHO, Joel did not hold back, particularly when discussing his negative relationship with bride Juliette, who – as far as audiences of this episode are concerned – has reformed and grown a strong bond with Joel over the retreat.
At the couples treats, Joel and Juliette appeared united at the start of the episode, but it seems their opinions on Bec and the whole situation with Rachel differed vastly in real life.

While Juliette banded together with Gia to stir up more drama between Rachel and Bec – just as the two brides were ready to resolve the matter privately – Joel told WHO that he thinks Bec “has a good heart”.
“Look, I know Bec’s been involved in a lot of drama and she started a lot of it and she’s shown, you know, some not so great sides to her personality,” Joel said. “But what’s not said about Bec is that she has a good heart.”
“I genuinely believe that.”
As tensions continue to bubble over, maybe audiences will see Bec well and truly change her ways, and the rest of the contestant rally around her in support.
Only time will tell.
