The MAFS couples retreat has left fans with many questions, as well as reinforcing what people have been thinking all season long. From “what did Bec say?” to “is this really all that happened at the retreat?”, a lot of fans are looking beyond the drama to who is fuelling it, then sitting back to watch the explosion.
After an ill-timed joke from Bec, an offended Rachel stormed out of the first night of the couples retreat.
After yet another apology from Bec, Gia and Juliette were quick to “gang up” on the bride and rally around Rachel in this rare moment that steered the spotlight away from them.
Whether people believe Rachel overreacted or not, everyone can agree on one thing, Bec should’ve just said sorry, not went any further, and let everyone enjoy their time in the countryside.
But the behaviour of Gia and Juliette, and even of Brooke in previous episodes before she left the experiment (and got engaged…) has been noted by fans.

Quick catch-up: What did Bec say to derail the Couples Retreat?
On yesterday’s episode, March 9, fans were left to sit with some awkward silence and side-eyes after Bec made a joke about Rachel and Stephen’s intimacy in front of the entire group, starting another major argument.
After Rachel proudly announced that her and Steve had made some headway with their intimacy as a couple – a vulnerable moment for the bride – Bec’s comment about the couple’s “finger b–g” made Rachel feel belittled.

After voicing this to Bec, the bride apologised (kind of) before also throwing in comments about Rachel being “dramatic”. Not exactly how an apology should go Bec… especially towards someone you call your friend.
Fans were quick to comment on how this argument should have been resolved.
“It’s obvious [Rachel is] very fragile and doesn’t handle those types of crude comments well,” one user commented. “That being said, it should be obvious to Bec that her joke wouldn’t land for someone like Rach and she should have just apologised instead of dragging it along the whole time.”
“Would you honestly say that in front of a group of people to a friend?” another fan questioned.
Fans are over the ‘gang up culture’ on MAFS 2026
While fans definitely noticed Bec’s pattern of poor behaviour and even poorer apologies, they also noticed the tendency of the group to “gang up” on each other, rather than maturely sort things out on the side.
However, fans are also grossly aware that juicy reality tv doesn’t come from using our words and good old-fashioned honesty and maturity, but a little bit here and there would be nice to see.
While Bec and Rachel’s names are the one’s crowding comment sections this morning, brides Gia and Juliette have also not slipped through the cracks as easily as they’d perhaps have liked as they’ve also been labelled “repeat offenders” like Bec.

“[Gia and Juliette] are repeat offenders to ganging up on people like episode 20 (at the dinner party both ganged up and began berating Joel),” one user noted online. “Then adding fuel to the fire with the whole Rachel and Bec situation.”
“They all gang up,” one fan noticed. “That girls group has a big gang up culture around it.”
However, after all the dramatic exits, vicious comments, and “bullying” tirades this season, fans are hoping the MAFS producers will finally see that “seeing bullying, manipulation, and people who are clearly unstable is not the best watch.”
For now, we just have to hold out hope that the drama subsides, Bec, Gia and Juliette *finally* change their behaviour, and all the couples learn how to communicate maturely.
Although, that may be asking too much…
