The intruders have well and truly arrived, and brought with them plenty of new drama and tension. However, one new groom in particular is off to a polarising start.
Tyson, a 30-year-old ex-army soldier, was married to 32-year-old real estate agent Stephanie on Monday night.
While their floral wedding stunned viewers, Tyson’s anti-woke opinions have proven to be the most shocking of all, and his view’s on his wife’s body count even more so.
Cosmina Naum, a self-worth and relationship coach, told WHO that the groom has a “double standard” for judging his new bride’s ‘body count’ despite his being higher.
“When a man claims sexual freedom for himself but shames a woman for hers, he’s not protecting values, he’s protecting hierarchy,” she told WHO.
“Shame has historically been one of the most effective tools used to control women’s behaviour.”

During the couple’s honeymoon, Tyson’s controversial beliefs were on full display when he questioned why Stephanie had slept with so many people and not been in a realtionship.
Tyson has both been married before, and has a higher ‘body count’.
“I don’t want a slave for a wife, I just want a submissive wife,” Tyson said to Stephanie.
When pressed by Stephanie on what a “submissive wife” looks like, his reply was the “opposite” to her.
Tyson hypocrisy pushes women to ‘question’ themselves
While their honeymoon commenced okay-enough with a wholesome conversation about how the “world needs a lot of healing”, it quickly escalated into a ‘what’s your body count?’ discussion that clearly demonstrated the “double standard” Tyson has for the women he dates.
“I think my ideal body count for a female would be zero,” he said to Stephanie after joking about “escorting a girl quickly out of the house” after hearing that her body count was around 78. “Having a person with a high body count, it’s actually really dirty.”

When Stephanie challenged this (quite frankly *insane*) belief, Tyson rebutted by arguing that women should be better at “controlling their urges” over men and if they can’t, then “they probably have daddy issues.”
And we thought it couldn’t get any worse…
Cosmina explained this way of thinking keeps a woman “questioning” herself rather than the unfair nature of the opinion.
“When sexual freedom is permitted for one gender but punished in another, we’re not talking about morality, we’re talking about power and status. It keeps women questioning themselves instead of questioning the imbalance,” she said.
Tyson doesn’t want to be challenged
Tyson doesn’t just condemn women’s body count, but also their ambition… a trait Stephanie takes great pride in (as she should!).

While Tyson tells producers that he wants a wife who is “submissive, someone who won’t ask [him] to be a house-husband”, Stephanie once again challenges him to expand, calling him out as a “walking contradiction.”
It also seems like Tyson has his definitions mixed up, particularly at the end of the episode when he blames Stephanie for their dynamic not working due to her being “too masculine.” That is, someone who doesn’t just go along with everything he says.
However, Stephanie calls his bluff, positing that a better way to describe their disconnect is not that she’s “too masculine”, but instead that Tyson feels “emasculated.”
What does bride Alissa think of the new couple?
Alissa, who attended the couple’s wedding with husband David, told WHO that she was “gobsmacked” by Tyson’s comments.
She initially thought they could be a good match, admitting that the groom “needs a strong woman to ground him, even though he doesn’t think he does.”
However, after tonight’s episode, we’re not sure if they’ll last long… and if we even want that for Stephanie.
