Contestants Jessika Power and Dan Webb asked the relationship experts if they were allowed to stay on the experiment together as a couple after their ‘cheating’ was exposed.

As expected, the decision didn’t sit well with fans, who are now petitioning for the show to be cancelled.

A viral hashtag ‘boycottMAFS’ quickly gained traction on Twitter, with fans creating the petition titled ‘Get MAFs on channel 9 banned and taken off air,’ on Change.org.

The petition has 6000 signatures from early Monday morning.

“Tonight’s episode of Jess and Dan ‘hooking up’ and the therapists allowing them to continue in the experiment is outrageous,” read the description.

“This show has highlighted and given the message that adultery, cheating, lying and partner swapping is okay and you’ll be rewarded if you partake in it.

“It’s wrong and immoral and should be banned from ever being broadcasted again. Shame on you Channel 9”.

Both Jessika and Dan’s partners, Mick Gould and Tamara Joy both wrote ‘leave’ during Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, with Mick breaking down in tears during the show.

During the ceremony, Dan pleaded, “I see myself as being very lucky, but I’m very grateful that they’ve let me remain inside the experiment, because, obviously, Jess, she lives in Perth, I’m on the Gold Coast, so I’m excited, I’m gonna cherish every moment with her.”

Expert John Aiken warned the couple: “Our advice to you is to take this next week incredibly seriously. You only have a very short amount of time to see whether you as a couple can make this work before you head off into the real world.”
