MasterChef fans are questioning whether the judges are playing favourites again after frontrunner Poh Ling Yeow took out the jaffle round in last night’s immunity challenge with a dish some claimed didn’t “fit the brief.”

There was a lot at stake in MasterChef’s most recent challenge – an immunity pin up for grabs that would secure one contestant’s place in the top 10.
But, it wasn’t going to be an easy feat.
The challenge was made up of three rounds or as Poh aptly described it: “Like a mini finale.”
It was round one’s jaffle cook off, however, that had some viewer’s blood boiling.
Khanh, Callum and Poh were tasked with creating a fancy toastie, with judge Melissa Leong describing the brief as: “melty, toasty, gooey happiness.”
Poh made a ‘fruit bread toastie’ with prosciutto, honey, Gruyère, rocket and spiced butter.
While it sounds delicious, fans weren’t exactly convinced believing it ‘didn’t fit the brief’ or was ‘too fancy’ to be a humble toastie.
“Poh not a toastie. It was toast put together. Didn’t meet the brief, ripped off,” one fan commented on Twitter.
“As much as I love Poh, I don’t think that was a real toastie,” another user wrote, with a third adding: “Poh – doesn’t make a toastie and wins the toastie round… will probably make a dessert for this dinner round and win.”
“Poh’s is too fancy to be a toastie,” a fourth chimed in.
The judges, however, adored her Christmas-esque creation.
“I loved it, like an artisanal luxury toasty,” Jock Zonfrillo stated after tasting her dish.
While Melissa called it the: “best Boxing Day sandwich I could conceive of” before each delivered their scores to declare Poh the first round winner.
It’s not the first time fans have accused the judges of playing favourites with Poh, but only time will tell if the beloved contestant will take out the competition.
Several viewers have expressed their annoyance at the amount of air time the contestant receives over others.
“Is this the Poh show?” asked one fan, while another commented in a MasterChef fan page, “It always was the Poh show, even when she was with Julie [Goodwin] it was still the Poh show. Just over it”.
