It’s been two years since 22 innocent lives were taken by suicide bomber Salman Abedi, who detonated a shrapnel-laden bomb at Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert.
Despite witnessing the unimaginable, the brave star revealed this week that she will be making an emotional return to the city to perform at the Manchester Pride Live event on August 25.
The 25-year-old ‘Thank U, Next’ singer took to Twitter to share the news with her followers, explaining she will be headlining the event.
“Manchester babes, I’m so thrilled to be headlining pride. my heart,” the 25-year-old . “I cant wait to see u and I love u so so much.”
Manchester Pride Live organizer Mark Fletcher also weighed in on the announcement, saying he was honoured to have her on board.
“We are beside ourselves to have you performing for us. We’re truly honored to be welcoming Ariana back to the city to help us celebrate LGBT+ life.”
The show will mark Grande’s first return to the city since she organised the One Love Manchester benefit concert in honour of those whose lives were lost in the tragic bombing. Stars like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Robbie Williams flocked to Manchester to perform alongside Grande.
