Netflix’s ‘Someone Great’ is the breakup movie we didn’t know we needed

Move over, To All The Boys I've Loved Before.

Let’s face it, there’s nothing more painful than having your heart broken. We’ve all been there, we’ve all blocked them on Instagram, and we’ve all had one to many drinks hoping that’ll be the cure.

For those sick of waking up with a hangover, I come with good news – there’s a new movie that’ll help heal your heart!

This morning, Netflix dropped a trailer for their upcoming film, Someone Great. Written and directed by women behind Brides Maids, the film follows Jenny (Gina Rodriguez), an aspiring music journalist living in the Big Apple falls in love with a guy called Nate. After nine years of dating, Jenny lands a job in San Francisco and to her disbelief, Nate decides to dump her.

Ugh, men.

Down in the dumps, Jenny calls her bad-ass best friends Blair (Brittany Snow) and Erin (DeWanda Wise) in for a few wild nights out before she leaves New York. And when I say wild, I mean WILD!

“It’s a really cute f***ing movie and we’re so proud of it,” Rodriguez, who also stars in Jane the Virgin, told Elle Magazine. “We worked so hard on it. It has a female director, female leads, female VP — pretty badass. I’m pumped.”
