John Van Beek

Eliminated ahead of Top 6

John Van Beek, the 19-year-old from WA, also bid farewell after an emotional performance of You Are The Reason by Callum Scott. Despite pouring his heart into his final song, he couldn’t secure enough votes to stay in the competition. Grateful for the experience, John said, “I came into this whole experience just giving it a shot… I have learnt so much and met so many amazing people.”

Eliminated ahead of Top 6

Emma Jones’ journey on Australian Idol came to an end, despite delivering a breathtaking rendition of Fields of Gold by Sting. The 23-year-old vocal powerhouse from the ACT showcased her signature strength and control, but ultimately, Australia’s votes weren’t in her favour. Reflecting on her time in the competition, Emma expressed gratitude, saying, “I feel like I have grown as a person and an artist. It’s only the beginning.”

Hannah Waddell

Eliminated ahead of Top 8

Despite the judges describing her performance Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive as “effortless vocal perfection,” Hannah sadly did not receive a large enough share of the audience vote to send her through to the Top 8.

Sharing their shock at her elimination, judge Amy Shark said, “You have one of the strongest voices we have ever seen in Idol.”

“Get yourself a booking agent. I would book you for a party, a wedding, or corporate gigs. Go and start your career,” Kyle Sandilands continued.

Bony Onynango Australian Idol

Eliminated ahead of Top 8

Making a mark on the competition with his progressive autotune vocals, Bony sadly found himself in the bottom four, with only a few votes deciding who was sent through after their first performance.

While his rendition of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s I Don’t Care may have brought the audience to their feet in his final sing-off, it unfortunately wasn’t enough for him to progress to the Top 8.

Mzuki

Eliminated ahead of Top 10

After singing her way to a place in the Top 12, Mzuki once again gave her all during her powerful performance of Coi Leray’s Players.

Despite her rapping skills winning over the panel, her performance sadly didn’t resonate with the audience compared to her fellow contestants, with Mzuki sadly losing out on a place in the Australian Idol Top 10.

“Thank you, Australia. Thank you for having me, and to everyone who voted for me, I am going to keep going,” she shared as she left the stage.

Aaliyah Dechesne

Eliminated ahead of Top 10

Singing for her place in the Top 10, Aaliyah’s performance of The Jackson 5’s Who’s Loving You brought the judges to their feet, with Amy, Kyle, and Marcia each showering praise on her standout performance.

Sadly for Aaliyah, her latest cover, unfortunately, did not earn the fan vote needed to progress from the Top 12, with Aaliyah being eliminated from the competition ahead of the Top 10 showdown.
