The 26-year-old nurse and now influencer from Northern New South Wales is always posting makeup free pictures, but is not afraid to get a little raw.
Elly’s post featured two split screen images – in one picture Elly posed to make her body appear toned and in the other she stood normally to show her non-altered figure.
“Instagram VS reality moment taken just minutes apart. Don’t get too caught up with everything you see on Insta my loves. The photo on the left was taken with some hArdCoRe fLeX’n in the right lighting,” she wrote in the caption.
Elly continued: “Lol this IS NOT what my body looks like when I’m getting around in day to day life. I have rolls, I have cellulite, I have stretch marks, I have loose skin.
“But, at the end of the day, I love it all because I appreciate and love having a body that is SO GOOD TO ME (sometimes it easy to forget that) It is sooooo important to be KIND to your body (and yourself ❤).
“Don’t put yourself down if you have cellulite, stretch marks, lose skin or rolls. Because *news flash* everybody does. Your body is the vessel you are going to live in for the rest of your life!! So give it a bit of credit and a bit of ❤love ❤.”
Elly ended the post with an admission about the pressure she felt to look a certain way, even though her body was still healthy and happy.
“I, like many of us have been guilty of placing pressure on my body over the years but then I remember how truly LUCKY I am to have a healthy body that allows me to function day to day and do the things I love.
“Remember, every BODY is amazing, unique and beautiful.”
The comment section quickly filled with support towards Elly and her message.
One person posted, “You’re gorgeous and love that you keep it real.”
Another gushed, “You’re amazing gal! Love what you share.”
Elly’s former Bachelor cast mate and Bachelor In Paradise star, Jessica Brody, also commented on the post, “Perfect 24/7.”
In a world full of edited pictures, it is important to keep perspective, and if you feel like Instagram is bringing down your confidence, it’s okay to delete the app every now and then.
