It’s only week two of Big Brother 2026, and there have already been more housemate clashes and feuds than I can count on one hand.

The show, of course, is known for its drama. I mean, put 14 strangers with conflicting personalities in one house, and you’re bound to have some clashes. However, this year, it seems there is one housemate at the centre of the drama: Ebony.

The 23-year-old from Victoria has been raising eyebrows since she first arrived, calling everyone “peasants” and “hobos” and sharing her controversial opinions.

Last week, she was clashing with Kyrah; this week, it’s Anita, and frankly, fans are over the “name calling” and “tension”.

Speaking to WHO after her eviction, Pam gave some insight into what’s fuelling these constant clashes, and just how much Big Brother helps out behind the scenes.

Fans are calling for an end to this season’s ‘unpleasant’ clashes

When it comes to the constant clashes this season, fans are divided. As tensions rise between Ebony and Anita this week, with Ebony getting stern with Anita over her chores and calling her out in front of the house, many viewers believe it has gone too far.

“Big Brother needs to step in and put a stop to Ebony’s nastiness towards Anita,” one fan wrote online. “The constant name-calling, disrespect and personal attacks are becoming really unpleasant to watch. There is a difference between playing a game, having disagreements and deliberately targeting another person with hurtful words.”

“I agree, it’s really unpleasant to watch,” another user commented. “Ebony seems determined to create tension and turn everyone against Anita. There’s no need for all this negativity and division in the house.”

Other fans have pointed out that the tension may be a form of “gameplay by Ebony”.

“She knows Anita has a chance of winning, and is trying to point out faults to the Australian public to get her out!” one viewer observed. “But, in my opinion, it just makes her look more like a horrible person with zero empathy for people different to herself! So her behaviour is acceptable, but Anita’s is not?!!”

And others have even defended Ebony’s behaviour for the sake of entertainment.

“Mind you, if it wasn’t for Ebony, this house would be as boring as watching paint dry,” one user wrote.

Pam reveals just how involved Big Brother really is

When it comes to household tension, there’s no avoiding it. But Pam admits to WHO that it doesn’t make seeing the clashes any less difficult.

“There were high emotions in the house from time to time, particularly between competitors,” Pam told WHO. “And so, seeing someone crying — an adult with their head in their hands — it’s hard.”

However, Big Brother is more involved than audiences realise.

“But Big Brother would pull them into the diary room,” she added. “He’s got the yin and the yang. He’ll be making sure that you’re doing the right thing, but he’s also got that caring side where he’ll pull an adult in if they’re crying or they’re upset, and he’ll talk them through that and help them.

“So he’s sort of got that nice, helpful side as well. But to see adults cry is generally quite hard.”

While Big Brother does get involved to help out contestants, it may not be enough for fans. As the fighting continues throughout the series, we’ll have to wait and see if the housemates (and Big Brother himself) reach a breaking point.
