After enduring a gruelling 14-day course to prove what it takes to make it in the SAS, Millie Boyle, Darius Boyd and Riana Crehan have gotten to the very end of SAS Australia and passed selection.

Winning SAS Australia is quite a task, given that some that finish the course still don’t pass selection.

Last year, Sam Burgess was the only recruit to pass, even though John Steffensen and Mark Philippoussis completed all the necessary tasks on the course.

At the very end, Ant had Millie, Riana, and Darius stand before him after they pulled off an impossible-looking climb up a cliff-face, ready to reveal whether their completion of the course would equal a passing of selection.

“I can tell you now, we’re looking for integrity, grit, determination, passion, emotional intelligence,” he told them.

He went on to reveal they had all passed selection, leading them to celebrate with smiles, hugs, and a couple of tears.

“This really has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life, physically, mentally, emotionally, everything. It’s definitely life-changing,” Riana told the cameras.

“I am just buzzing with emotion,” Millie said tearfully.

“It’s been the longest two weeks of my life, but the best two weeks. It’s been amazing.”

She, Riana and Darius then piled into a helicopter, finally leaving the course behind them.

The two NRL players and Supercars presenter were the final three standing, having started alongside 14 fellow recruits.

While injuries knocked out the likes of Barry Hall and Michael Zerafa, other recruits like Geoff Huegill and Paul Fenech were forced to accept they didn’t have the fitness to complete the course.

The tough season also saw women outnumber men in the final days, with Ebanie Bridges, Anna Heinrich, and Melissa Wu all making it close to the end.

Former Bachelor Locky Gilbert almost made it to selection but was the final recruit to be culled by the DS.

Ant Middleton asked each of the last four recruits who they would cull if they had to, and while Locky and Millie put Riana’s name forward, Riana and Darius chose Locky, leaving it to the DS to break the deadlock.

Locky left with his head held high, going with the praise of the DS. Although he said he was “devastated”, he did say he would take the lessons of failure forward with him.

Congratulations to Riana, Millie and Darius!
