The competition on The Block 2024 continues to heat up as our five couples push through the highs and lows of their latest room reveal—this time, it’s the guest ensuite. With a mix of triumphs and setbacks, the week showcased the diversity of styles and approaches that each team brings to the table. As the season progresses, the stakes get higher, and this week’s reveal has certainly set the bar.
Who won this week on The Block?
The Block’s contestants push through yet another gruelling week as they race to complete their backyard and pool spaces, battling rainy weather on Phillip Island. Courtney and Grant emerged as the winners, thanks to their beautifully designed backyard and pool area, which earned them a top score of 39 and an impressive two-tens from the judges, bringing home $30,000 in prize money.

Courtney and Grant (House 2)
Courtney and Grant stole the show with a stunning backyard that wowed the judges. With lush greenery, an impressive fire pit, and a phenomenal BBQ area, this backyard was hailed as the standout of the week, earning them two tens and a total score of 39 points.
Score: 39

Maddy and Charlotte (House 1)
Maddy and Charlotte impressed the judges with a spacious, entertainer’s backyard. Despite a last-minute challenge of switching their banned Caesarstone bench, they still managed to deliver a “dream” BBQ area that Marty praised for its hosting potential. They earned solid scores, ultimately landing just two points behind the winners.
Score: 37

Kristian and Mimi (House 5)
Kristian and Mimi took on the biggest backyard on The Block with a mix of features, including a basketball court. While the judges appreciated their efforts, they questioned the absence of a BBQ area. Despite this, their score was one of the highest.
Score: 35

Ricky and Haydn (House 3)
Ricky and Haydn presented a large, simple space that the judges liked but felt lacked a bit of personality. Shaynna, in particular, wanted more, though the pool area was recognized as a versatile space ideal for a young family. Their backyard secured them a respectable score.
Score: 32

Kylie and Brad (House 4)
It was a tough week for Kylie and Brad, who dealt with landscaper issues and an incomplete space. Even with the help of House 5’s landscaper, the yard was left unfinished, which left the judges underwhelmed and resulted in the lowest score of the week.
Score: 27
Guest Bedroom and Laundry Results
This week, The Blockheads faced the challenge of finishing another guest bedroom and laundry, pushing through typical Phillip Island trade issues and managing their budgets to complete these vital spaces. Here’s a look at each team’s results:
Courtney and Grant came out on top, thanks to their thoughtful redesign and Courtney’s keen eye for style, which earned them a winning score of 28.5 and the weekly prize.

Courtney and Grant (House 2) – $24,361 Spent
Courtney and Grant impressed the judges with their redesign of the upstairs space, creating a fully contained area that worked seamlessly. Shaynna praised Courtney’s design style, particularly in the upstairs bedroom, which received high marks, while the laundry, though good, wasn’t perfect. Playing their “penguin,” they claimed victory this week with a score of 28.5.
Score: 28.5

Ricky and Haydn (House 3) – $30,544 Spent
Ricky and Haydn delivered a family-friendly home featuring bunk beds that boosted their guest capacity to twelve. Their powder room addition in the laundry was a hit, and the judges felt the couple had hit their stride. They achieved the highest score this week, just half a point behind Courtney and Grant, with 29 points.
Score: 29

Kylie and Brad (House 4) – $26,260 Spent
Kylie and Brad faced criticism for their bedroom layout, which the judges found lacking in functionality, and their black-and-white laundry didn’t win favor either. Kylie was visibly upset by the feedback, though they finished with a solid score of 22.5.
Score: 22.5

Kristian and Mimi (House 5) – $34,160 Spent
Kristian and Mimi were commended for the best laundry of the day but took a hit for placing the front bedroom in what the judges felt was the wrong location. Despite their efforts, they ended with a score of 20.5.
Score: 20.5

Maddy and Charlotte (House 1) – $26,043 Spent
Maddy and Charlotte spent over $26,000 but delivered an incomplete room that disappointed the judges. While Marty initially liked the elevated bed concept, the judges ultimately felt it was a mistake, especially above a double bed, and noticed the spaces felt unfinished. They ended the week with a total score of 20.
Score: 20
Hallway Reveal Results
It’s a massive week on The Block as the contestants juggle hallway reveals, the Domain Listings and Buyers Jury challenge, and two rooms to complete. For Kristian and Mimi, however, the pressure is hitting breaking point. The Adelaide couple clash over their plans for the hallway, with Mimi wanting to start painting while Kristian insists on cleaning the rooms for next week. Their relationship struggles are on full display, as both admit to feeling overwhelmed by the demands of the competition. Despite their troubles, impressive rooms are still delivered as “tool’s down” is called.
In a dramatic turn, Maddy and Charlotte tied with Ricky and Haydn for the win. However, Kylie was not pleased, accusing the girls of getting special treatment and even threatening to walk off the show after a tough week.

Maddy & Charlotte (House No. 1) – $38,833 Spent
Spending $38,833, Maddy and Charlotte wowed the judges this week. They loved the girls’ decision to create a self-contained space with a spiral staircase and a door where there was once a window. Their lighting plan and artwork choices were spot on, earning them a tied first place with 28 points.
Score: 28

Ricky & Haydn (House No. 3) – $39,119 Spent
Ricky and Haydn spent $39,119 and nailed it this week. The judges loved everything about their spaces, particularly the games room, which perfectly catered to the holiday vibe of Phillip Island. Tied for first place, they scored 28 points overall.
Score: 28

Courtney & Grant (House No. 2) – $29,091 Spent
With a budget of $29,091, Courtney and Grant had a mixed result. The judges were not impressed with their upstairs office space, calling it well-executed but pointless. However, their rumpus room was a hit, thanks to fantastic styling and furniture. They finished the week with 23 ½ points.
Score: 23.5

Kylie & Brad (House No. 4) – $28,148 Spent
It was a disastrous week for Kylie and Brad, who spent $31,366 but received harsh criticism from the judges. They thought the upstairs couch overlooking the living room was pointless, and Marty even called their rumpus space the most uncomfortable room on The Block. Kylie was unhappy with the feedback and finished with just 16 points.
Score: 16

Kristian & Mimi (House No. 5) – $34,492 Spent
Kristian and Mimi spent $34,492 but could only present one finished room as their upstairs bedroom was incomplete. The judges felt they got the planning all wrong and would have preferred if they’d stuck to the original plans for a guest bedroom. They ended the week in last place with 12 ½ points.
Score: 23.5
Living and Dining Room Week Results
This week on The Block, the pressure is really starting to take its toll, especially on Kristian, as the teams race to finish their living and dining rooms. After a wild night of drinking, Courtney and Grant, Brad and Kylie, and Kristian and Mimi are all feeling the aftermath, struggling to meet deadlines. For Kristian, it’s been a particularly emotional week, with a few tears shed and some humility as he’s forced to ask Maddy and Charlotte for paint after refusing to help them earlier in the competition. Tensions run high between the teams, especially when Courtney and Grant try to poach Maddy and Charlotte’s Venetian plasterer without warning, leaving Charlotte and their builder Jack furious.
In the end, Kylie and Brad triumphed with a score of 29 ½, securing $30,000 for their efforts in what was a massive week.

Score: 29.5

Courtney & Grant (House No. 2) – $34,949 Spent
With $34,949 spent, Courtney and Grant bounced back in style this week. Darren loved the drama and bold colors in their room, and Shaynna hailed it as a return to form for the Sydney couple. The only drawback? The placement of the fire. They scored 26 ½ points.
Score: 26.5

Maddy & Charlotte (House No. 1) – $36,000 Spent
Spending $36,000, the girls delivered a warm and beautiful space that impressed the judges. Darren praised their white color palette, but found the room a bit safe, while Shaynna felt their styling was lacking. They earned a total of 25 ½ points.

Score: 25

Kristian & Mimi (House No. 5) – $14,590 Spent
Though they spent just $14,590, Kristian and Mimi’s room left the judges disappointed. The smaller space wasn’t the issue—it was the layout. The judges felt they hadn’t maximized the potential of the balcony and the views, saying everything was arranged the wrong way. They earned a total of 23 ½ points.
Score: 23.5
Guest Ensuite Week Results
Staying close to the top of the leaderboard, newcomers Maddy and Charlotte impressed the judges with their sophisticated style choices, with their shift away from Jesse and Paige’s previous aesthetic earning them the top spot on this week’s leaderboard.

Maddy & Charlotte (House No. 1) – $19,660 Spent
After taking home the top score during their kitchen week renovations, Maddy and Charlotte were eager to maintain their run of high scores.
Still grappling with the aesthetic hangover of Jesse and Paige’s vision, the sisters were conscious of creating a bathroom that was still cohesive with the remainder of the house whilst also still being reflective of their style.
Fortunately, their vision was a hit with the judges, with Marty praising Maddy and Charlotte for their more “sophisticated palette” in comparison to the previous House No. 1 team.
Score: 27.5

Ricky & Haydn (House No. 3) – $33,112 Spent
After receiving one of the lowest scores in the previous week’s challenge, Ricky and Haydn were eager to make a comeback to the top of the leaderboard with their yellow accented guest ensuite.
While their choice of varying shades of yellow may have slightly irked the judges, the trio were impressed with their modern, circular design choices and functional layout.
Score: 25

Kylie & Brad (House No. 4) – $28,148 Spent
With no tradies available for much of their build week, Kylie and Brad got off to a less-than-ideal start to their guest ensuite makeover – landing almost two days behind schedule by the end of the week.
Luckily for House No. 4, the pair were able to rally together to get their renovation complete before tools down and despite Marty’s harsh criticisms, Darren and Shaynna were impressed by their bold design choices and contrasting textures.
Score: 24.5

Kristian & Mimi (House No. 5) – $27,722 Spent
Although their simple colour scheme may have been a hit with the judges on the marketability front, Kristian and Mimi soon lost out on points after evidence of some dodgy handiwork began to show through in their inspection.
“I’m underwhelmed by this aesthetic purely because I’ve seen it before in this house,” Darren said, with the trio scoring Kristian and Mimi in joint third place with Kylie and Brad.
Score: 24.5

Courtney & Grant (House No. 2) – $27,573 Spent
Coming off the back of their penguin point win, Courtney and Grant’s candy-striped bathroom sadly sent them straight to the bottom of the leaderboard.
“This will not market well. It’s like walking into a kid’s maze and I absolutely hate it,” Marty said before later adding, “Courtney and Grant’s signature Moditerranean might have slipped these last two weeks. It’s starting to get a little gimmicky for me.”

Kitchen Week Results

Maddy & Charlotte (House No. 1) – $15,253 Spent
Prior to their departure from the show, former House 1 team Jesse and Paige had pre-ordered almost everything they needed for their kitchen vision, leaving Maddy and Charlotte to add their own flair to the room with the materials they had on offer.
Fortunately for the duo, the judges were stunned by their makeover, with judge Darren giving the pair a 10 out of 10 for their simple, yet sophisticated kitchen makeover.
Score: 29

Kylie & Brad (House No. 4) – $12,030 Spent
After taking home the win for their master bedroom makeover, Kylie and Brad continued their roll of stunning renovations and delivered the judges with a dark, woody kitchen makeover.
With touches of light wood and lighting for contrast, the judges were impressed by the “Tom Ford” -like qualities of their “moody and sexy” room redo and thanks to their penguin point, the duo were able to boost their score to take home the win.
Score: 28.5

Courtney & Grant (House No. 2) – $13,402 Spent
While the duo have impressed the judges so far with their ‘Moditerranean’ aesthetic, Marty, Shaynna, and Darren were of a divided opinion about Courtney and Grant’s kitchen makeover.
“I don’t feel like this kitchen matched the level and quality and sophistication that I have seen in their other rooms,” Marty shared, adding that he felt the pair had missed the mark on their renovations. Despite his criticisms, Darren and Shaynna were overall impressed by their grand kitchen, leaving them with the third-highest score of the week.
Score: 27

Kristian & Mimi (House No. 5) – $20,815 Spent
Despite working as a restaurant manager outside of The Block, Mimi revealed that the kitchen was her least favourite room of the house. Working to create a unique and aesthetically pleasing space, Kristian and Mimi accented their wood-panelled kitchen with pops of dark green.
Although Shaynna and Darren were impressed with the bold design choice, Marty felt that the pair may have potentially jeopardised their chance of appealing to buyers in the market by choosing such a “risky” colour.
Score: 26.5

Ricky & Haydn (House No. 3) – $16,869 Spent
With The Block alumni Duncan Miller joining their team, Ricky and Haydn set to work on renovating their kitchen into a bright and airy workspace fit with white wood, marble, and soft lighting.
While the judges loved the light and breezy aspect of their makeover, they each agreed that the layout was not practically functional on the day-to-day, with the appliances being situated along the main walkway.
Score: 23

Kristian & Mimi (House No. 5) – $19,570 Spent
Aiming to keep up their winning streak, Kristian and Mimi went all out to deliver a standout coastal master bedroom.
Nailing the brief, the duo received high praise from the judges, with Darren exclaiming, “What the actual hell. It’s not just great, it’s excellent,” upon entering the room. With the judges wowed once again, Kristian and Mimi took home joint first place.

Score: 28

Kylie & Brad (House No. 4) – $18,587 Spent
Straying from their fellow contestants’ choice of bright neutrals and beiges, Kylie and Brad flipped the switch on their master bedroom, opting to incorporate dark woods, copper, and rust colours into their room makeover.
Fortunately for the pair, their aesthetic gamble paid off, with the three judges awarding them the second-highest score of the week.
Score: 27.5

Score: 27

Kylie and Brad (House No.4) – $11,611 Spent
Kylie and Brad’s guest bedroom left the judges divided, with Shaynna describing the room as leaning towards an Art Deco style, which she felt was out of place for a beach house on Phillip Island. Marty, however, saw it as an improvement over their controversial all-black bathroom from the previous week. This uncertainty could shape their strategy moving forward.

The judges were also critical of the room’s layout, particularly the positioning of the bunk beds, which didn’t quite work. Marty urged the boys to inject more emotional connection into their spaces, as this could make all the difference in creating rooms that resonate with future buyers. Despite the setbacks, the duo is determined to improve in the coming weeks.

Bathroom Week Results
The heat is on—literally and figuratively—as The Block 2024 kicks off its 20th season on Phillip Island. Score: 28 ½

Courtney and Grant (House No.2) – $29,706 Spent
Courtney and Grant’s week was marred by issues with their builder, leading to a devastating setback when a mix-up meant they couldn’t complete their Venetian plastering. Despite the challenges, the judges were impressed by their bathroom’s styling and overall effort. Shaynna wanted more drama, but this sparked a fiery disagreement with Marty, who argued that the bathroom’s design would appeal to the future buyer of a Phillip Island holiday home. The judges’ praise boosted Courtney and Grant’s spirits, though Grant wasn’t shy about expressing his frustrations.
Score: 28

Ricky and Haydn (House No.3) – $31,848 Spent
Ricky and Haydn, fresh from the emotional high of Ricky welcoming his first child, Matilda, faced the judges with a bathroom that was a bit too bold for their liking. Darren Palmer offered a more balanced view, acknowledging the risks but also seeing potential. The harsh criticism brought Kylie to tears, but the couple remains committed to their vision.
Score: 22

Jesse and Paige (House No.1) – $26,109 Spent

The judges appreciated the room’s potential, with Shaynna Blaze praising Paige’s choices in vanity, tiles, and overall design. However, Marty Fox didn’t hold back, criticizing Jesse, a carpenter by trade, for not finishing the room. The couple’s score reflected the judges’ mixed feelings, leaving them disappointed but determined to bounce back.
