The Kardashian family may be known for their elaborate holiday decorations, but this year, Rob Kardashian is keeping things simple.
On Monday, the 30-year-old reality star showed off his Christmas tree on Snapchat in a series of festive videos using the social media platform’s latest holiday filters.
His tree — adorned with white lights and red and white ornaments — added a pop of brightness to his neutral-coloured Hidden Hills, California home. Next to it was a string of garland, laying on (and cascading down) his fireplace mantle.
Kardashian’s decked halls come one week after a source told PEOPLE the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has been laying particularly low in the wake of his explosive social media tirade against his ex-fiancée Blac Chyna this summer.
It’s been five months since the incident, in which Kardashian repeatedly posted graphic and expletive-ridden content about his ex on social media — including three naked photos — while accusing her of drug use, alcohol abuse and infidelity.
The couple, who share a 13-month-old daughter Dream together, have been involved in a slew of legal battles since. Chyna has accused Kardashian of violating California’s revenge porn laws, damaging her brand and allegedly verbally and physically abusing her, among other things. Kardashian and his 20-year-old sister Kylie Jenner, in response, sued Chyna for battery, assault and vandalism, alleging she attempted to choke Kardashian with an iPhone cord during a fight in December 2016. (Jenner owns the home where the alleged altercation took place.)
“[Rob] only cares about Dream and loves spending time with her, but that’s about it,” the insider told PEOPLE earlier this month. “He doesn’t seem excited about anything else.”
According to the source, Kardashian — who has battled weight gain and depression — is “still struggling with his health.”
“He isn’t dating,” said the insider. “He keeps himself isolate and mostly socialises with his family.”
The source added that Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner has been helping with Dream, and that Kardashian and Chyna, 29, are “still in disagreement when it comes to money.’ (An insider close to Chyna, however, told PEOPLE that “it’s actually been pretty mellow between them.”)
Meanwhile, it’s shaping up to be a very merry Christmas for Dream — who appeared on day 9 of the family’s Christmas card and will celebrate the holiday with mum Chyna and her brother King Cairo, 5.
“We’ll be spending it together at my house,” Chyna, who shares King with ex Tyga, told PEOPLE earlier this month. “King is really excited about Santa, decorating the Christmas tree and his gifts! So it’s really exciting to get the house holiday ready. And Dream is fascinated with Santa and loves all of the lights. She’s getting into it all.”
The entrepreneur also revealed that Dream has started “walking and running.”
“It’s so much fun chasing her around!” she said. “And she’s started to say words, so it’s really fun seeing her personality come out.”
