It’s the British teen series that takes a frank look at sex and sexuality, and although a second season of Sex Education hasn’t officially been announced yet, star Ncuti Gatwa, who plays stand-out character Eric, let slip in a recent interview that scripts have started being prepared for another batch of episodes. Here is what we want to see happen…

Otis and Maeve… or Otis and Ola
Now the schoolboy sex therapist and relationship counsellor, played by Asa Butterfield, has gotten over his self-pleasure hang-up, maybe he can stop avoiding intimacy and date one of the two girls he has feelings for. Our money is on Otis and Ola (Patricia Allison) making a go of it in Season 2, with Otis and Maeve (Emma Mackey) – Motis? – being the long game. We’re prepared to wait for that one.
Eric and Adam reunite
Either you knew out-and-proud Eric and closeted bully (and headmaster’s son) Adam (Connor Swindells) were going to end up having a moment or their band room hook-up took you completely by surprise. Either way, we expect Adam won’t stay shipped off to military school forever – the chemistry between the two of them, never more evident than in the Science classroom, suggests their liaison was no one-off.
Jackson rebel further
Sucks to be Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling). His genius move to bribe the headmaster into letting Maeve stay at school didn’t work out quite how he expected and as for his girlfriend, well, Maeve admitted to not sharing his feelings. Now he’s defied his mums once, will the school captain stray even more from the path they’ve laid out for him?
Aimee do… anything
We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to scene-stealers in Sex Education, but Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) is never less than hysterical, whether she’s standing up to her mean friends or taking care of business in her bedroom. She could read out the phone book and it would be funny, although let’s hope the writers have something more creative in mind for her.
Jean and Otis continue to clash
Gillian Anderson is great, but her sex therapist character doesn’t do that much. She barely leaves the house, spends all day washing sheets and can’t even commit to a relationship. But Dr Jean and son Otis get into a blazing row, we see the character come alive. More please.
Lily’s wish to have sex come true
It seems odd to be rooting for a character to, well, you know, but Lily (Tanya Reynolds) has been dead-set on losing her virginity only to face hurdle after hurdle. It would be nice to see her get some satisfaction, but only after a few more roadblocks since there’s little funnier than a sexually frustrated Lily.
