If you love a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat, has you questioning motives and theorising ‘how can that be?’ then do I have the show for you.
PONIES is a new thriller comedy-drama streaming on BINGE, co-created by Susanna Fogel and David Iserson. Set in late-1970s Russia, it follows two women who go undercover for the CIA after their husbands die in suspicious circumstances.
The title is a clever nod to a moment when a character labels the women “PONIs” — short for Person Of No Interest. But as the series unfolds, it becomes clear they’re anything but. Thrown together and pushed to their limits, the duo find themselves entangled in dark conspiracies, hidden moles and the very real possibility of double-crossing agents.

Where to watch PONIES
PONIES premiered on BINGE in Australia on Friday, January 16.
There are only eight episodes in the first season, so it’s easy to watch all in one sitting if you’re willing. Each episode is approximately 60 minutes long, so consider this your weekend, sorted.
Who is in the cast of PONIES?
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Me Before You) stars in PONIES, alongside Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) and Adrian Lester (Sandman, Day After Tomorrow).
The supporting cast is equally impressive — and in some cases, almost unrecognisable — featuring Artjom Gilz (Tar, Das Boot), Nicholas Podany (Saturday Night, Hello Tomorrow), Petro Ninovskyi (Shttl, Silence), and Vic Michaelis (Very Important People, Upload).
What is PONIES about?
PONIES is set in Moscow in 1977, where two “PONIES” work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy.
Bea (Emilia Clarke) and her newfound friend Twila (Haley Lu Richardson) are thrust into the world of espionage when their husbands die under mysterious circumstances in the USSR.
Together, they go undercover as CIA operatives, navigating a dangerous web of Cold War secrets while trying to unravel the mystery that made them widows in the first place.
Honestly, I can’t say much more without spoiling it… so consider this your sign to watch PONIES now!
Is there going to be a second season of PONIES?
Currently, it’s too early to tell. But judging by how the first season ended, I’d say we need a second season.
That being said, the series has only recently premiered, so it will likely be a while before show-runners decide whether it’s worth another. Here’s hoping!
