Taking to Instagram on Monday morning, the 33-year-old shared her excitement about her new project.

“It’s arrived! 9 News Watch launches at 8pm (eastern time) today on Facebook watch,” she told her followers.

“It’s a daily news bulletin made for you. ‘Like’ any of our Nine News Facebook pages, including Current Affair & the Today show, to have your say, share your stories and stay up-to-date.

“Join me weeknights from 8pm – exclusively on Facebook Watch. #9NewsWatch

Unfortunately, a few technical glitches on the debut 9 News Watch show left some viewers unable to hear the audio of the broadcast correctly.

“I suppose the first and most obvious difference is that this Nine News bulletin won’t be seen on Channel Nine, it will only be seen on Facebook,” Sylvia revealed of her new role during a brief re-appearance on the Today show on Monday morning.

“It is also very user driven because we know people want the news when and where they want the news when and where they want it these days,” Sylvia added.

Sylvia famously left the Today show eight months ago, when the Australian breakfast show underwent a huge staffing shakeup which also saw the axing of her husband Peter Stefanovic, and her brother-in-law Karl Stefanovic.

Karl’s personal issues – including his break up from ex wife Cass Thorburn, and re-marriage to Jasmine Yarbrough, and the infamous the ‘Ubergate’ scandal – were rumoured to have been the cause of the changes.
