She may have scored a rose from Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson after an emotion-charged cocktail party, but it has come with plenty of thorns.

While Perth business development manager Stephanie Lynch enraged her fellow housemates and some viewers by calling Holly Kingston the c-word, she still holds her head up high over her time on the dating program.

“When I started to contemplate how I might be portrayed on the show, I realised that I couldn’t regret anything,” the 27-year-old gamer tells WHO.

“I didn’t try to sugar-coat anything. Everything I said and did was authentically and unapologetically me,” she explains.

Do you put the incident with Holly down to being in a pressure cooker situation?

If you take a mansion and fill it with a bunch of women who don’t know each other and are all dating the same guy, it’s intense. We aren’t filming 24 hours a day, so there is a lot that happens behind the scenes that never gets shown. There was some tension on that particular night that seeped over into the cocktail party and I said what I did in the heat of the moment. I was really upset at the time and had basically been crying all night.

Were you shocked by the big drama the swear word caused?

I had no recollection of ever saying it and was just a bit like a deer caught in headlights. It was a pretty unpleasant thing to say though, especially in a situation so emotionally heightened. But it just felt like unnecessary drama.

Lynch admits that Nicholson wasn’t the man whom she expected to meet on the arrivals carpet on the first night. “My first thought was, ‘You’re not Tommy Little.’ I’d heard a rumour he was going to be the Bachelor,” she explains. (Credit: Ten) (Credit: Ten)

You’ve been very vocal about not trusting pilots after previously dating one who cheated on you. Why did you decide to stay in the mansion?

I have heaps of pilot friends and they are great people. I didn’t mean to paint them all with the same brush so even though Jimmy was a pilot, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he was like as a person. On our single date, I could feel chemistry. We had good banter and a lot of fun. After that, I started to feel that I really liked him a lot.

You’re gorgeous and a gamer, which sounds like every guy’s dream! Why did you decide to go on The Bachelor to find love?

I just love the franchise so much. I’m a massive fan of the show and watched every season. When the call went out for applications for this year’s season, I was single so the stars just aligned and my friends all encouraged me to give it a go.
