WHO spoke to the latest lady to leave The Bachelor Australia mansion, straight-shooting Florence.
Here she reveals the one thing we missed about her home town date and how she really feels about being sent home by Matty J.
WHO: How are you feeling after last night’s episode?
FLORENCE: I’m feeling good actually, I wasn’t heartbroken or anything. I think this was the best decision for both of us.
WHO: So you weren’t shocked when it happened?
FLORENCE: Well you never know what to expect. When you’re in the middle of it you don’t know am I getting a rose. But it’s the same thing every week, you never know if you’re getting a rose because you can’t trust your connection because he’s not giving you anything to work with he’s not telling you how he really feels. So I don’t know.
I wasn’t in love with him, I did really like him, but when he didn’t give me a rose I felt some sort of relief, if that makes sense, because I didn’t worry about it anymore about if I would fall in love with him.
WHO: Do you think if Matty could give you more of a hint about how he really feels, it could be easier?
FLORENCE: He does give you a little bit, but it’s always the positive things. And obviously he likes me otherwise I wouldn’t be there. He started with 22 girls and I was one of the last four. There were things about me that he really liked and vice versa I really liked things about him. What he said to Cobie, like sometimes you have all the ingredients to fall in love but it doesn’t happen. What I felt with Matty is that I had all the ingredients to fall in love but the love bug didn’t hit me.
WHO: Do you think if you had been settled in Australia for longer, things may have been different? As Matty did mention couple of times that he wasn’t sure if you would stay here.
FLORENCE: No, regardless, that’s not how love works. If you run into someone then you make it work. I met my ex boyfriend in Cambodia, he was from Australia, I was from Holland and we made that work. So I don’t believe in that.
WHO: Last night on your home town date, were you OK with your friend Marley interrogating Matty?
FLORENCE: I have to say that I didn’t know that it was that full on. But you didn’t see the bits where she was being rally nice , and we had dinner together and we were laughing and chatting. So you only got to see her being inspector gadget, but I think it’s fair enough/ She’s a very loving an caring person and she wants the best for me. And she knows my intentions, she knows that I wouldn’t be on the show still if I wasn’t looking for something real. But she doesn’t know what he’s looking for.
WHO: Do you see yourself being friends with Matty and the winner when the show ends?
FLORENCE: Yeah, 100% because all three girls are my friends. So whoever he is going to end up with, and considering there were no love feelings between us, we can definitely be friends. I adore Matty he’s amazing, so we can be friends 100%.
WHO: Who do you think will win?
FLORENCE: It’s such a tough question, I’ve been asking around but no one wants to tell me. One day I’m like it’s going to be Elise, then I think it’s going to be Laura or Tara. So I’m really excited to find out next week.
WHO: Are you dating anybody at the moment?
FLORENCE: No. I’ve been staying away from dating for a bit because I was still on the show. It’s a bit weird if you’re dating someone then every Wednesday and Thursday you’re making out with a dude on TV. Bit strange. So no, I haven’t been dating but I’m not fussed. I mean, I’m not desperate to find love.
WHO: Do you plan on staying in Australia?
FLORENCE: I don’t know why everyones asking me that. I live here I’m not on vacation. I have a house and furniture, I’m sorted.
WHO: Matty said a few times that you had just arrived here and wasn’t sure if you planned on staying long-term.
FLORENCE: It’s fair enough that you’re asking. But it’s up to Matty what he thinks about that. I know that I moved here and I’m here to stay, I’m not moving unless it’s to a different state within Australia, but I’m not going back to Europe. So if he used that as an excuse to not give me a rose then that’s up to him. There’s no rules for breaking up with someone. I mean I’ve broken up with guys for less.
