It was one of the most emotional rose ceremonies we’ve seen to date, with a devastated Angie Kent admitting moments after sending Ryan Anderson home that she’d made a huge mistake.

Since then, the intruder— who entered the competition late but quickly became a fan favourite— has opened up about his unexpected elimination, admitting he’s still heartbroken the former Gogglebox star called out Timm Hanly’s name over his.
“I guess the only word to use would be shocked,” Ryan told 10 Daily after leaving the mansion. “It was a bit unexpected because I did have such a good hometown with Angie. And I had a really great day out with her on the boat, so I was feeling confident going into [the rose ceremony]. It did come a bit out of left field.”
Since his quest to win Angie’s heart was ultimately de-railed, Ryan has focused on moving on, admitting he’s in a much better headspace after a rough couple of months.
“I’m just focusing on putting my life back on track,” he also told radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands and his KIIS FM co-host, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson this morning. “A lot has happened since the show and a lot has shaken me up in my life. I am working on it. I just moved to another state and started a new job.”
During the interview, when asked whether he’d try his hand at love on The Bachelor, Ryan candidly revealed that while his time on-set was enjoyable, it took a toll on his mental health.
“I don’t think I would be able to handle the pressure,” he said of handing out the roses himself. “It’s not something I could put myself through. I’m not the kind of who could date 20 people and not feel something for all of them. I wouldn’t be able to make the decision.”
Then, the dog lover dropped a bombshell— Angie also struggled while filming the series.
“I saw the tax it had on her mental wellbeing,” he dished.
The lovable reality TV contestant has long been open about her battle with anxiety and depression, speaking up about it on the show and during multiple press interviews.
“I internally struggle terribly with anxiety and sometimes I can get into a deep depression. I tend to get out of it quite quickly, but the little sucker always seems to sneak back in,” she shared on blogspot.com.
“Generally, my anxiety is at its worst, or my depression will return when I am run down, consume too much booze or think I can take on 150 different responsibilities at one time,” Kent explains.
