Ah, awards season, the glitziest time in the celebrity calendar!
Whilst we love checking out the red carpet fashion, it’s also a celebration of the year’s best films according to the experts.
From historical epics to nail-bitingly suspenseful thrillers, here’s where you can watch all the nominated movies.
Frankenstein
Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel tells the story of scientist Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaacs) as he embarks on a quest to bring new life into this world when he creates The Creature (Jacob Elordi).
Also starring Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz in supporting roles, the film breathes new life to a classic tale and director del Toro told Tudum that he’s lived with Mary Shelley’s creation all his life.
“For me, it’s the Bible. But I wanted to make it my own, to sing it back in a different key with a different emotion.”
Hamnet
Based on the heartbreaking novel by Maggie O’Farrell (who co-wrote the screenplay with director Chloe Zhao), Hamnet tells the story of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes.
With stunning performances from Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, the latter of whom won the Critics Choice Award for her role as the Bard’s wife, make sure you keep the tissues nearby.
It’s nominated for six awards including Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

Sinners
It’s been nominated for four awards including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Michael B. Jordan, Best Original Song I Lied To You and the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement for good reason.
Set in 1932, Jordan plays identical twins and World War I veterans who return home to Mississippi to supernatural evil.

One Battle After Another
Loosely based on the 1990 novel Vineland, the film follows a former revolutionary who is forced back into his former combative lifestyle when he and his daughter are pursued by a corrupt military officer.
With an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Benicio del Toro, it’s no surprise that it has a whopping nine nominations.
These consist of Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Chase Infiniti (who is making her acting debut), Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Leonardo DiCaprio, Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Teyana Taylor, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

Marty Supreme
Timothée Chalamet’s relationship with Kylie Jenner isn’t the only focus this awards season.
In Marty Supreme, the actor plays Marty Mauser, an aspiring table tennis champion, who is determined to be the best.
Nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor and Best Screenplay, it’s one to watch whether you’re a sports fan or not.

Bugonia
Not sure why this one is up for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy as it looks pretty spooky!
Starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, the film tells the story of two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
Both actors are nominated for their performances as well, and Emma Stone even shaved her head for the role!
No Other Choice
This South-Korean film is nominated for both Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language.
Starring Lee Byung-Hun (who is also nominated for Best Actor) as Man-su, the film follows a paper industry expert who has been unemployed for several years and decides to kill of his competition to secure a new job.

It Was Just An Accident
Jafar Panahi’s drama is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language as well as Best Director and Best Screenplay.
In the thriller, mechanic Vahid encounters a man who he believes is his sadistic tormenter, Eghbal, the Peg Leg, when he was a political prisoner. In a panic, he rounds up his fellow ex-prisoners to confirm the man’s identity.

Sentimental Value
With eight nominations including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language, Best Director and Best Screenplay, this family drama-comedy is bound to tug at the heartstrings.
Stellan Skarsgård plays Gustav, a once-celebrated director, who reconnects with his daughters Nora and Agnes, played by Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, respectively.
Stellan, Renate, Inga and Elle Fanning are all nominated for their performances and Stellan is tipped to take Best Actor.

The Secret Agent
Brazilian drama The Secret Agent has three nominations including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Actor for Wagner Moura.
In the film researcher and former professor Armando (played by Moura) attempts to flee persecution in the midst of the Brazilian military dictatorship.

Nouvelle Vague
Nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, this is one for any lover of French films.
The comedy-drama, directed by Richard Linklater, tells the story behind the filming of 1960 film Breathless; one of the first feature films of the French New Wave of cinema.

Blue Moon
Another Richard Linklater creation, Blue Moon is a biographical comedy-drama about Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart in the wake of his his former creative partner Richard Rodgers’ successful musical Oklahoma! with Oscar Hammerstein.
Starring Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley and Andrew Scott, the former of whom is also nominated for Best Actor, the film is nominated for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Sirāt
Flying the flag for Spain is Sirāt, nominated for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and Best Original Score.
Set in the Moroccan mountains, a father and son search for their daughter and sister at various raves after she disappeared at one months ago. The film is named after the Islamic word for the bridge that connects heaven and hell, reflecting their perilous journey.

The Voice Of Hind Rajab
This powerful film that was co-produced by Tunisian and French filmmakers, tells the story of Red Crescent volunteers receiving an emergency call after five-year old Hind Rajab was trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue.
Based on the heartbreaking true story of the young girl killed by Israeli forces, the film is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language.
