Hero Fiennes Tiffin, best known for his iconic role as Hardin Scott in the After series, is officially swapping romance for investigating crimes as he steps into the role of Sherlock Holmes in Young Sherlock.
The British actor and model earned himself internet boyfriend status thanks to the breakout After film franchise (who could ever forget that door-kicking scene?), and judging by the trailer for his latest project, he’s well and truly back on the internet’s favourites list.
Set to premiere in 2026, Young Sherlock sees Hero take on a darker, rawer version of the world’s most famous detective – long before Baker Street, Benedict Cumberbatch or the deerstalker hat.
But that’s not all. Hero’s real-life uncle, Joseph Fiennes, also stars in the series as Sherlock’s father, Silas Holmes. Watch the trailer below and keep reading to find out more.
Where can I watch the Young Sherlock series?
All eight episodes of Young Sherlock will premiere on March 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
While you’re there, you can watch (or re-watch) Hero in all the After films, also on Prime Video.
What is Young Sherlock about?
Fans of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films are in for a treat. Young Sherlock delivers the same fast-paced wit and cinematic charm, just with a much younger, more volatile detective at its centre.
The series tells the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved character, reimagined in a bold and explosive way. When we meet Sherlock Holmes, he’s raw, reckless and unfiltered – getting himself caught up in a murder case that threatens his very freedom.
What begins as his first-ever investigation quickly spirals into a globe-trotting conspiracy that will shape the rest of his life.

Set in 1870s Oxford and unfolding across international locations, Young Sherlock explores the early antics of an anarchic adolescent who has yet to become the world’s most brilliant consulting detective.
Who is cast in Young Sherlock?
Alongside Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Young Sherlock boasts an impressive ensemble cast.
Cast members include Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).
