The past few years have been nothing short of a roller- coaster ride for radio host and Australian TV personality Mel Greig.
The 35-year-old is ready to move on with her life, putting negative past experiences behind her as she embarks on a positive road to self-improvement.
“It’s time to focus on me and feeling good from the inside out,” Greig tells WHO, in an exclusive chat about her new endeavours.
After recently announcing she was leaving her breakfast radio host role at Wave FM, based in Wollongong, NSW, Greig packed her bags and moved back to Sydney.
The gruelling wake-up calls for 5AM shifts had taken a massive toll on her emotional and physical health.
“I’ve gained over 10kg in a year,” she says. “I’ve never been so unhappy about my body.”
Currently at her heaviest at 87kg, Greig’s self-confidence has been affected. Desperate to slim down and feel good about herself again, she knew changing her lifestyle was key.

“My body was out of whack with irregular sleep patterns and eating at odd hours, usually with poor food choices,” says Greig. “And my inactive social life in Wollongong certainly didn’t help.”
Combine those factors with an ongoing battle with endometriosis—often causing painful, severe bloating episodes—and Greig decided she needed to take action and make drastic changes to her lifestyle. So the timing was perfect when we invited her to join the WHO 10-Week Best Body Reboot.
Having already relocated to take up new opportunities, Greig says this challenge couldn’t have come at a better time. “Working to transform my body is the first step in starting this exciting new chapter of my life,” she says.
